Ed's name is in most of the reviews — not the company's, his. Edward Pratt is the holder of record on Son Home Remodeling's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, which is active, and he is the one homeowners describe calling back after a storm, pricing a job over a couple of exchanges, and standing in the driveway while the roof goes on. The company works out of Randolph and says it covers Southeastern Massachusetts — Stoughton, Canton, Sharon, Easton, Braintree, Brockton, Walpole and the Bridgewaters among them. Roofs are the bulk of the work. A Walpole homeowner who collected three quotes in November 2025 wrote that Son's came in best by far with no added charges, and that the cleanup afterward left no sign a crew had been on the property. In a June 2025 review, a customer who had the house and garage re-roofed liked that Ed stayed on hand through the job, checking the work as it went. Siding is the other half of it. A May 2026 job put CertainTeed Monogram panels with Cedar Impression accents on a house, with the color options walked through at the first visit. In June 2026, a homeowner whose vinyl siding was torn up by a rainstorm sent photos, got a call back from Eddie quickly and agreed a price after a couple of exchanges — and the smaller jobs land the same way, with one June 2026 review describing Eddie and Mark replacing window trim, repairing a garage ceiling and handling bench and kitchen work in a single day. What is worth sorting out up front is how long this company has been going. Thumbtack's profile says five years in business; the Better Business Bureau's page for the Randolph address says about one. The BBB grades that page an A, though the company is not accredited there, and Thumbtack lists a background check on Edward Pratt. The written history is young either way: 4.9 stars from 12 Google ratings, 4.9 from seven on Thumbtack, all posted since 2025. For a roof replacement or a siding job around Randolph and Brockton, where you would rather deal with the owner than a salesman, this is a reasonable call. Ask Ed how long the company has been operating under this name, and get the material spec and the cleanup written into the estimate before work starts.
