That is the entire customer record: no platform reviews, no star ratings, just repeat word-of-mouth in one neighbourhood. The permit trail says more about the scale of the work. A BuildZoom profile matching this business exactly on address and phone shows 43 permits, mostly kitchen and multi-room remodels, with a typical permit around $22,300. The larger jobs on it are substantial: a $196,650 first-floor remodel with a new side door and porch in Brookline in 2024, a $47,900 second-floor bathroom remodel with a wall removal on Cypress Street in 2025, plus a basement stair and powder room build. One caution about the paperwork. A Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #205327, is registry-verified active — but the registry's holder of record is "Sousa Construction & Cleaning Services Inc," a related but differently named entity. The BuildZoom licence block is worse: it mixes three licence numbers under this name, including a cancelled HIC and a cancelled refrigeration licence, and its employee list carries five owner names and three spellings of Paulo De Sousa, which is the signature of a directory blending several same-named businesses. Do not treat those directory numbers as this company's. A reasonable call for a Somerville or Medford kitchen, bathroom or whole-floor remodel where a personal recommendation matters more than a review count. Confirm the exact registered entity name on your contract, and ask for two recent local addresses you can look at.
