On Google it sits at 4.4 across 80 ratings, and the praise runs specific: people name the technician. A January 2025 customer wrote that Patrick showed up on time, explained what he'd do, then left a full written report including the weak battery he'd swapped. A February 2025 reviewer described a tech catching a battery problem before it could strand them mid-year. And in February 2026, after a storm killed a 15-year-old unit, someone in Humarock thanked the company for dropping off a portable generator that kept fourteen condos from freezing.
The install side draws the same kind of detail. In a 2024 review, a homeowner said the sales rep, Sandi, moved their generator away from the electric meter to a spot they hadn't known to ask about and walked them through the Eversource paperwork; a 2023 customer whose 20kW unit failed under warranty said South Shore took the repair on after the original dealer wouldn't touch it.
Money is where the reviews split, and they split hard. In September 2025, a customer whose two-and-a-half-year-old Generac engine seized called the company difficult on warranty and pricing — $347 to look at it, over $3,000 quoted to replace the engine, against $960 from a Pembroke competitor. In April 2025 another homeowner who liked the technician still called $362 for a 21-minute service call excessive; an October 2024 reviewer said a $150 maintenance visit ended with a flipped breaker and no maintenance done; and a September 2024 buyer described a install that went sideways and a cash payment of several thousand dollars the company failed to record. A February 2025 customer who switched over wrote that prices are fair, so it isn't universal — but get the service-call rate, exactly what the annual plan covers, and who pays warranty labor in writing before anyone rolls a truck.
One more, from February 2026 and not from a customer: a neighbor complained about rental units running day and night on a residential stretch of Humarock. Worth knowing if you're the one renting one. For storm-season standby power, whole-home installs and annual maintenance contracts on the South Shore and Cape, they're a solid call — settle the money questions first.
