Across 35 reviews from 2021 to 2026 on Google and Houzz, the pattern holds through job after job — full roof replacements finished in a single day, leaks other roofers wouldn't return calls about, siding and trim work done alongside the roof. A 2023 review described him inspecting a roof another contractor had installed a decade earlier just to check on a possible leak, and another 2023 review described him fixing a previous roofer's botched chimney repair. Not every account is glowing, though. A 2023 review described a roof that started leaking two years after South Shore installed it — Ronnie came back out, but the leak got worse, and the reviewer ended up paying someone else to fix it. A 2021 review described a piece of roof ridge blowing off in a storm about two and a half years after installation, with the reviewer unable to leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. The BEST service experience i have ever had in 45 years!!! After a recent storm, I called South Shore Roofing, leaving a message about an improperly installed stack boot. Ronnie Lackey promptly called back, and attentively listened as I explained water was staining the ceiling in a new kitchen. It was an emotional kick in the gut, as it was the kitchen my mom and I planned as she was terminally ill, and she asked what would happen to the house once she passed. Her dying wish was that new kitchen. She was an amazing cook, and did It all in the original 58 yr old kitchen. The new kitchen represented, and brought to life the few and last moments of joy she experienced during a painful hospice. Everyday in this kitchen i felt her joy and spirit. Ronnie not only understood how i devastated i was to see the ceiling ruined by a water leak, but also the immediacy of preventing further damage. He said he would work to fit in this repair asap. As another rain was approaching, Ronnie immediately came over and correctly re-installed the stack vent boot, reshingled the area roof, and immaculately cleaned up the mess!!! AND this was a 3 days before his commutted start date!! I have never experienced this level of genuine concern and kindness, nevermind professionalism!!! Ronnie Lackey and his South Shore Roofing team will provide top quality workmanship at good price with a complete mastery of all aspects of the specific job at hand!!! Ive attached before pictures of a sloppy incorrectly Installed boot ( which itself was the wrong part) and the Ronnie's work of a precise, correctly installed boot - and being the correct boot for this install!!!
Ronnie and his team replaced my roof and also did some wall shingle replacements, trim boards and corner boards w/ PVC boards, and replaced several rotten window sills. He and his team did a great job. I would definitely hire South Shore Roofing again.
We had a great experience with Ronnie and South Shore Roofing. He looked at our whole roof and deck, rather than just the pieces that were visibly broken and gave us multiple options to choose from. The roof is now fixed and looks great!
A friend and I both hired roofing companies at the same time. I went with South Shore roofing. Ronnie quickly answered all my questions and would even come by with samples on multiple occasions. I really tested his patience and he was great. Once I gave the go ahead the roof was completed within a week. My friend was still trying to get the competitor to answer her questions so she could select the material. Once her project with the competitor was done months had passed and tons of damage to her windows. South shore roofing kept the area around my home clean, removed all the nails and kept the house secure so nothing was damaged. Great work and easy to do business with…
