Spotted Dog Masonry

A pile of rocks in, a hand-built stone fireplace wall out — that is how a customer described Spotted Dog Masonry's work in a 2025 review, and stonework is what this Weymouth company gets called for. Dominic is the name that keeps appearing; from a 2023 Angi review onward, customers name him as the person doing the work. Its own site lists the range a small masonry shop covers: chimney repair, brick repointing, retaining walls, sill and lintel repair, and patios and walkways, residential and commercial. The reviews land mostly on the stone and repair side. A 2024 customer who needed quick masonry repairs said the crew matched the new mortar to the old, which had been their main worry, and in a 2023 Angi review a homeowner described Dominic waterproofing and repointing a stone basement. Price comes up more than once. A homeowner who had a small patio built in April 2025 called the price affordable; a 2024 customer said the quote beat the contractor they had used before, who charged more and took longer. Another 2024 review has a smaller moment: the customer wrote that Dom gave a hand to their grandmother, who was living with them and unwell, while they were out at work. Two things to know before calling. The written history is short and dated — seven reviews across Google and Angi, all from 2023 to 2025 — and the 5.0 on Angi comes from a single review. Ask to see photos or addresses from recent jobs; masonry is one of the few trades where you can go and look at the last one from the sidewalk. For a stone wall, a patio, or repointing where matching the existing brick or stone is the whole job, Spotted Dog belongs on the shortlist. Confirm who will be on site day to day, and get the scope and the price in writing before anyone starts.
