Forte Enterprises is a Weymouth-based specialist that replaces and repairs basement bulkheads across Greater Boston — the company says it has been the original factory-certified BILCO bulkhead installer in Massachusetts since 1968, with owner Fred Forte personally overseeing every job. Its stated work also spans masonry, waterproofing, and general construction tied to those installs. The name that keeps coming up is Fred's. Across 27 Google reviews running from 2023 through this spring, every one is five stars, and a clear theme repeats: old, rotted or ground-mounted bulkheads that had been letting water in get replaced with a new Bilco unit and a poured-concrete or raised foundation, and reviewers report the basement staying dry through storms and rainy summers afterward. Several reviewers also describe Fred personally answering calls and staying reachable directly, and more than one says he was brought in to fix a bulkhead another contractor had installed poorly. One thing worth checking directly before signing anything: state registry records currently list Forte's Massachusetts home-improvement contractor registration (license 104418) as expired. The company's own site also claims BBB accreditation and a "certified home improvement contractor" credential, but those are its own claims here rather than independently verified ones. For a leaking, rotted, or outdated bulkhead, this is squarely what Forte is known for — just confirm the license is current before booking.

Forte did a great job replacing my bulkhead - I am very happy with the quality of their work, the workers and final result - I highly recommend. Even more impressive though is that they are very organized and communicative. I like that Fred uses email for contracts, scheduling and communications - very professional and always responsive.
