Verified record
SR Woodworks, run by Scott out of Norwell, is a finish-carpentry and custom-woodworking outfit with one of the more consistent written records here: 54 Google reviews, every one five stars, running from early 2024 through late 2025. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor license is active. The work described is wide-ranging but the throughline is precision trim and built-in carpentry — the kind of job that shows in the details. In a 2024 review, one homeowner had four windows, two exterior storm doors and two entry doors replaced, calling the cost reasonable and the result exquisite; another described stair railings and lighting that turned into a full gut of a family room, with Scott a "perfectionist right down to the final white screw." A 2025 review recounts a front door with two sidelights plus an added interior door, calling the installation "a breeze" and the finishing meticulous. Built-ins are a recurring request — bookcases matched to a curved stone fireplace, a mudroom built-in, an entertainment center — and reviewers across both years repeatedly single out clean job sites, on-time arrivals and clear communication about scope and budget as much as the finished carpentry itself. A few reviews add texture rather than just praise: a 2024 reviewer noted pantry doors that arrived warped from the supplier (not Scott's fault) and were swapped for perfect replacements within days; another 2024 review, from someone who worked with Scott as a project manager for a high-end Newton contractor, called him "not cheap, and totally worth the investment." With over four dozen five-star reviews and no complaints in the written record, the main open question for a homeowner is availability rather than quality — worth calling ahead given the volume of repeat business the reviews describe.

Really beautiful designs
I would highly recommend Scott and SR Woodworks to anyone looking for a skilled craftsman. Scott has a talent and professionalism that is above and beyond, and is very collaborative and easy to work with. He always shows up with a positive attitude and his attention to detail is impressive. We gave him two built in bookshelf projects, one with a gas fireplace, and one large wall built in to create, and we could not be happier with the end result. We look forward to working with him again on some future projects.
Scott and his team at SR did an amazing job, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. But what really separates SR was the ease of communication and thoughtfulness they brought to the job. They showed up on time, communicated their progress, and left the job site spotless on their way out. In terms of quality, they are true craftsmen. In terms of character, they treated our home like it was their own. Couldn’t recommend them high enough.
We had Scott install a front door with two sidelights as well as add an interior door. Scott was very professional. He was very accommodating with scheduling time and arrived on time. The whole process of installation was a breeze. His work is meticulous. The finishing work is beautiful. I would 100% recommend him for any work needed at your home.
Our brand new kitchen. Scott did a wonderful job and has excellent trades working with him. He let us know what was happening and when. Excellent choice for any work needed on your home.
