On r/QuincyMa last September, a homeowner answering a request for an electrician wrote that Stamatouras Electric had done extensive work on their house over the years — always excellent, and nice guys. The Google reviews read much the same way: one household in March had hired Anthony four or five times, another in February listed wiring two new rooms, exterior lighting and added generator circuits across several visits. Stamatouras Electric is run by master electrician Anthony Stamatouras out of Hull, with the site naming offices in Hull and Cohasset and a South Shore service area from Hingham and Scituate down to Marshfield and Duxbury. His Massachusetts electrician licence, 21875, is active on the state registry in his own name, and the Better Business Bureau grades the company A+, while noting it is not accredited. BuildZoom's permit records show 103 permitted projects, mostly electrical, at a typical permit size around $3,500, clustered in Hingham and Cohasset. The work is the domestic list: outlets, floodlights and circuit breakers, ceiling fans, indoor and outdoor lighting, two new rooms wired, circuits added to a generator, and an office switched to LED after the old fixtures took bulbs nobody stocked. In August a customer's new Google Nest thermostat turned out to be defective, and the crew handled it with Google so the house was not left without one. In July a homeowner renovating a 40-year-old house on a tight schedule credited Tony with keeping the trades in step. Mike and Tyler get named by customers as often as Anthony does. Price is described two ways. An August customer collected three quotes and found Anthony's fair, and a February customer called the quote competitive for three ceiling fans, a kitchen fixture and a receptacle. A January 2026 customer gave one star, saying the owner overcharged them and never acknowledged it. Get the scope and the price in writing before the first visit. On paper, the BBB dates the business to 2012 and calls it 14 years in, while the site credits the owner with more than 25 years in the trade; BuildZoom lists the active licence 21875 and an Electrical Business licence, plus an older number it has not re-verified since a 2016 expiry. For lighting, outlets, breaker and panel work, a generator hookup, or an electrician who will coordinate with the other trades on a South Shore renovation, this is an easy call. Put the quote in writing and confirm what is included.
“These guys have done extensive work on our house over the years. Stamatouras Electric Co. Always excellent work, and nice guys too. [email protected]. I’ve also used Jim Carleton Electric for a large reno project, also excellent work. [email protected] (617) 216-6491”
Love Anthony and his team. They are thoughtful, personable and do quality work. I received two other quotes for the initial work I needed and Anthony's pricing was fair and he was extremely good at advising on the project. Highly recommend and will keep coming back.
Extremely easy to work with and responsive. We hired them to install a google nest thermostat, and when an issue came up with a defective Nest, they worked with Google and made sure we would not be left without a thermostat while we waited for a new replacement. Pleasant workers, patient and all around nice guys. Highly recommend. Thank you to Tony for being a conscientious business owner.
Absolutely the best!! Have had to call them a couple of times in various items and they always figure out a way to fit me in the schedule. Do a great job and staff is friendly and understanding
Stamatouras Electric Co. (Tony) is an exceptional local electrical contractor and was the perfect fit for our interior and exterior 40-year-old home renovation. Working within an extremely tight schedule, Tony and his team helped maximize project efficiency, coordinate seamlessly with other trades, and played an important role in completing the renovation ahead of schedule and in a more cost-effective manner. When we hired Tony, we were looking for a trusted professional who would take pride in our home and deliver quality work that would stand the test of time. We are confident we made the best choice. -MTS
We had a wonderful experience using Anthony and his crew. They added indoor and outdoor lighting to our home. Not only were they extremely punctual, they were super polite, and left things neat and clean. It’s rare these days to find contractors that answer your calls in a timely basis, show up when they say they will and do fabulous work. Anthony and his crew did all of the above. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.
