"Actually shows up when promised" is how one customer opened a May 2024 review of Stein Construction, and the rest of it explains why that mattered: the crew diagnosed and addressed roofing problems others could not, and what impressed most was the finish carpentry. Customers, though, consistently name someone else: a condo property manager in Beverly, writing in January 2026 about a roofing job, called Nick the owner-operator and described him bringing roofing swatches to the building himself. What is written is positive and recent — seven Google ratings averaging five stars, with accounts running from January 2026 back to May 2024. A December 2025 customer said the team showed up and executed the work exactly as discussed and quoted, and would go back for roofing, siding or construction. An October 2025 customer called the pricing reasonable and said this is the crew they keep returning to. It is a short history, though: six written accounts, all on one platform, none older than May 2024. This suits a roof replacement or repair in the Malden–Melrose–Beverly corridor, particularly a leak another roofer has already failed to find, or a job where carpentry has to tie into the exterior work. Before you sign, ask which name goes on the contract and which licence the job is pulled under, and get the quote itemised — the reviewers who praised the price are describing a number settled before anyone got on the roof.
