Sterling Greenery sells plants and installs them. Its Mobile Design Service, in the company's own words, makes it easy to transform a yard in one afternoon. A recent customer in Westminster wrote that the owner, Mark, came with a truckload of plants and shrubs, laid out what he recommended, and let them pick and arrange what they wanted. A recent Worcester customer said Hans and his crew replanted perennials, trees and shrubs and refreshed the garden beds with mulch in two days. A recent customer with a pool area they disliked said Mark brought a large selection of plants, and his crew moved the old plants and installed the new ones. A 2025 Reddit commenter recommended it in either Sterling or Paxton for its selection and called the new Paxton store a hidden gem. A 2025 customer who used the Plant Nerds service twice said the company did not stand by its 3-year warranty and refused to replace multiple plants a year after planting. A 2024 customer said they kept pulling microplastics out of soil delivered from the company. A 2024 customer said a stone mailbox post went in beside the landscaped area without the old post being removed, then waited weeks for a response about the promised spring fix. A recent customer who paid $85 a yard for compost said it needed another year or two.

I used the design and installation services of Sterling Greenery this past May and couldn’t be happier. The designer came out for an initial visit with an assortment of plantings and placed them according aesthetics, conditions and exposure. I was delighted he suggested utilizing some of my existing plants. Within days someone came to remove overgrown shrubs and grind roots. Then came the team of conscientious and professional installers. I appreciated getting an immediate response to my initial inquiry and scheduling was efficient and considerate. My procrastination in writing this review is actually an advantage. I can say 100% of the plantings have thrived and the landscaping has grown in beautifully. The cost was more than fair and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them!
When Sterling Greenery says they "Design-Deliver- Install-We do it All"... they mean it. My wife and I recently had Sterling Greenery complete a landscape design at our home in Westminster MA. Their Mobile Design Service was outstanding. The owner, Mark, first asked us about what we wanted, and then to our surprise, he came with a truckload of a variety of plants and shrubs and laid out what he recommended. Pretty impressive. We then could pick, choose and arrange what we wanted. The installation crew was equally impressive. Hans was an excellent foreman. Eddie, the pruner and trimmer, did a great job reshaping and cutting back our existing plants and shrubs in the front of the house. You can tell just by talking and watching Eddie perform his craft, he loves what he does. The other two crew members Aidan and Nathaniel worked with Hans in a very organized way loading, spreading mulch, and planting. Sterling Greenery uses compost organic bulk loam for planting. The hemlock mulch was thick and plentiful. They edged more then I had anticipated. At the end of the day everything looked wonderful. My wife and I would highly recommend Sterling Greenery for your next outdoor project.

UPDATE (July 2026) -- We just completed a landscaping project by Sterling Greenery and couldn't be happier! We had a great experience from start to finish in working with Mark, Kali, Hans, Aidan, and their entire team (I am so sorry I didn't get everyone's names!). Mark took the time to understand what we were looking for and offered thoughtful recommendations throughout the design process (and mid-install, as well!). Kali was great in setting up the appointments and keeping us updated on the time-lines / expectations. Hans, Aidan, and team (ALL great!) clearly take pride in their work -- we would recommend Sterling Greenery without hesitation to anyone looking for high-quality, thoughtful landscaping with exceptional service! *** (Oct 2025) Last minute, end of season request for some arbor vitae, and Sterling Greenery made it happen! Robert quickly replied to my email, took care of the order over the phone, and got them planted— all in the same day! Everyone was so kind and professional, and we’re so happy with the results. Looking forward to working with the Sterling Greenery team in the future!
These are just a few pictures of the amazing work that Mark and his team did around our entire house. It was a huge area to landscape and Mark‘s design was spot on. Hans and his team did a great job on the install. They even moved some existing plants for us. The whole process was seamless, and we are in love with the result. Also to note, this install was done several weeks ago and everything is thriving! Can’t recommend Sterling Greenery enough!
