StoneCastle Design & Build is the kind of outfit people keep calling back. One household had Jamie Waters and his team through kitchen and bathroom projects on and off from 2018 to 2024, and wrote it up in February 2025 still recommending them. The through-line in the accounts is problem-solving on awkward houses. A 2020 client with a home past fifty years old described Waters working through the old-house complications, then going further: backsplash tile behind the bathroom mirror with a backlight on a motion sensor, so nobody has to flip on full lights in the middle of the night; a pot filler added at minimal cost because the plumbing already ran to that spot. He met them at the tile store to pick the backsplash out. Money and scheduling read well too. That same 2020 client said the proposal was thorough and accurate, and every price change came documented with a reason — most of them for work they had asked to add. A 2015 client's kitchen and bathroom renovation came in on the agreed budget and within a week or two of the promised date. Four reviews is a thin base, all of them on Houzz, stretching from 2014 to early 2025. Houzz's own sub-scores put work quality at 5.0 but communication and value at 4.0 apiece — the one soft spot in otherwise uniform scoring. A reasonable call for a kitchen, bath or basement renovation, especially in an older house. Ask for two or three recent references and the change-order policy in writing.
Jamie and his team did multiple home improvement projects including Kitchen and Bathroom for us over the years from 2018-2024. He is a very creative and personable contractor, has excellent lighting solutions ideas and comes up with creative lower cost options for sticky issues. I highly recommend the StoneCastle Design & Build Team.
Jamie Waters of StoneCastle was the contractor that Dream Kitchen recommended for us. We loved working with Jamie. Our house is 50+ years old and he was great at resolving issues involved with working with an older house. His proposal was very thorough and accurate. Any change in price was documented with reason and rational. Most of the time it was extra work that was requested by us. He provided wonderful suggestions that resulted in much better outcome at a minimal increase in cost. One example of many great suggestions was adding back splash tiles behind the mirror of our bathroom with a back light which is controlled by a motion sensor. It really increased the wow factor of the bathroom and it also allowed us to avoid turning on full lighting in the middle of the night. He even met us at the store (Roma Tile) and helped us pick out our back splash for our kitchen and suggested installing a pot filler which we use all the time. The cost was very minimal since plumbing was already available at the location.
Highly competent contractor who is very dedicated to his work. Creative thinker and comes up with very clever ideas for solving problems or issues faced on the job. He is always looking for ways to improvise and do things better.Worked on our kitchen and bathroom renovations. Has a great and reliable team. Work is impeccable and completed the project within the agreed upon budget and within a week or two of promised timeline. We have received endless compliments on his work.
