The most recent thing a customer has written about Strongmen Waterproofing is a complaint. In an August 2025 review, a homeowner said they paid $11,000 for a full French drain and sump pump installation, were still seeing water in the basement when it rained, that the pump never kicked on, and that repeated calls to multiple numbers and emails went unanswered — leaving them wondering, in their words, whether the company was still in business. It sits against four earlier and quite specific positives. In a 2021 review, a homeowner with a basement that leaked badly after heavy storms described a reasonably priced French drain estimate, a start within days, and the crew agreeing to move the sump drywell outside to the spot the owner preferred. A February 2024 customer described a practically invisible trench and sump setup keeping the basement dry, and another in 2024 credited the company with helping them get FEMA reimbursement they hadn't known they were entitled to. In December 2023, someone who called about a leak was told the problem really needed a carpenter, given a few suggestions, and sent away without a bill. Two things are worth checking before you call. Its BBB file is graded B-, and BBB states the reason plainly — failure to respond to one complaint filed against the business — on a profile that also says the company is not BBB accredited. And BuildZoom lists three registrations for Strongmen Construction LLC dba Strongmen Waterproofing, a Massachusetts home improvement registration, a Connecticut one and a Rhode Island specialist registration, and marks all three inactive, the Rhode Island one expired since 2020. Those are the directories' own records rather than a state verification, so they prove nothing in either direction. The business works out of Stoughton, Massachusetts with listed offices in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and Hartford, Connecticut, and the work described in its reviews is narrow and consistent: French drains, sump pumps, wet basements. Five reviews across five years is a thin history to judge that on, and the newest one is unresolved. Ask for the current Massachusetts home improvement registration number and check it with the Office of Consumer Affairs yourself, get the warranty terms in writing, and ask exactly who answers the phone if water comes back.
Paid $11k for a full French drain and sump pump install in October but still seeing water in the basement when it rains. Sump pump never kicks on. Have tried to call Strongmen on multiple occasions at multiple numbers but no response. No response to emails either so I have to wonder if they are still in business. So much for their "warranty". I should have gone with the most expensive company. You live and learn I guess.
Outstanding service. They did exactly the right work, were professional, and helped us get FEMA reimbursement I didn't know we were entitled to. A+ and strongly recommended.
They took the time to make sure we knew about all our options and could stay within budget. Work got done quickly and everything was left better than they found it. The end result was a practically invisible trench and sump pump setup that is keeping our basement bone dry. Strongly recommend these guys if you have issues with water in your basement.
When I called, they called back promptly, and I was able to schedule an estimate within a few days. They called to advise when they were on the way. The estimate was quick and honest. He advised that unfortunately, our issues largely required a carpenter instead, and offered a few suggestions of things we could try. I sincerely appreciate their time and honestly. Will call them again if we have other issues they can help with.
Strongmen Waterproofing is a first class operation. They responded very quickly to inspect our basement which usually leaked extensively after very heavy rainstorms. They recommended a French drain with a very reasonably priced estimate, and were able to start in a few days. They were very flexible and easy to work with. For example they agreed to our desire to locate the sump pump drywell outside in a location we preferred over their initial suggestion. They performed the work quickly and left the basement in excellent condition when done. I would not hesitate to use their services again, and highly recommend them.
