StudioRossi says on its Houzz profile that it designs and builds custom and bespoke furniture and cabinetry. It holds a 5.0-star Houzz rating from 15 ratings, and a 2018 businessofhome.com article named Massachusetts-based StudioRossi among the exhibitors to check out. Work in homes shows up in its Houzz reviews. A 2015 reviewer who used Rossi Custom Woodwork for several areas of their home said the window seat was on time and on budget, and that the lighted bookcase and cabinet fit the room like a glove. In a 2019 review, a writer who worked with Fred on a bathroom project in Salem, MA said he built a mid-century bathroom vanity for their clients. Another 2019 review describes the 8 ft tall wooden circle arbor a couple wanted for their wedding day, and says Fred surpassed their expectations. In a 2015 review, Fred Rossi re-created three tables and an interior door for a historic site in Philadelphia built in 1894, and spent an incredible amount of time perfecting a multi-step staining process so the new woodwork blended in with the turn-of-the-century interior. A separate 2015 review describes custom tables and a door he built for a 19th-century clubhouse, replacing originals that were "well-worn"; that club was already working with Fred to replace other wood elements. A 2017 review says the Friends of the Ipswich Library commissioned a table by Fred Rossi from the wood of an American elm that had stood in Ipswich, MA for nearly 175 years, and that in spring 2016 he turned the remaining wood into display gondolas. A 2015 review of a library table made from a much-loved elm tree says Fred was easy to work with, kept all deadlines and came in on budget. Another 2015 reviewer wrote that he created a workable solution in a limited space, was organized, communicated throughout the process and documented all agreements.

I had the privilege of working with Fred on a bathroom project in Salem, MA. He built a beautiful mid-century bathroom vanity for my clients. Fred pays close attention to details. He is a true craftsman and brilliant furniture maker. My Clients and I had a great experience working with him and love the finished product. I highly recommend Rossi Custom Woodwork.
My fiancee and I contacted Fred to make an arbor for our wedding day. We were looking for an 8 ft tall circle arbor made of wood that could stand on its own. I knew it would be very difficult to make, and even harder to make it look good, but Fred surpassed our expectations. It's everything we wanted and more. We're getting married in a month and this will be our piece de resistance. Fred was so easy to talk to and made the whole situation as effortless as possible. I can't recommend him highly enough, and I will definitely be back for our next project!
For nearly 175 years, an American elm tree stood in the town of Ipswich, MA, until it succumbed to Dutch Elm disease and on July 11, 2012 it was felled. The elm tree had a long history in the town, and was referenced in the work of late author and Ipswich resident John Updike, and others. After the tree was taken down, the town’s Shade Tree and Beautification Committee distributed the wood to interested artisans, woodworkers, furniture-makers and builders to make various items. The Friends of the Ipswich Library participated in this process and commissioned a table to be made by Fred Rossi. All involved were overwhelmingly happy with both the quality of the finished product and the process of working with Fred. Right from the beginning, Fred implicitly understood the dual goals of the project – to not only create an heirloom piece of furniture, but also to commemorate the rich history of the tree. He listened patiently to many voices and came up with a proposal that accomplished those goals. We were so happy with Fred’s work that a year later we asked him to work with us again. In spring 2016, Fred turned the remaining wood from the elm into these display gondolas, to be enjoyed by library patrons for years to come and they browse our library’s collections.
Fred takes pride and thought in his projects. He is very talented. I gave him a design concept and he created a masterpiece. We are all excited and happy with the end result. The table is beautiful.
Fred is an amazing artist and craftsman who conceptually traveled well outside the box to imagine then engineer and create an astonishing table that is a sculpture which blends shape, grain, contrast, reflection and light in such a way as to summon the emotional pull of a hug... did I say amazing? Fred is humble, diligent and fun. Every time we look at our table "Embrace" we feel a connection that slows us down to appreciate light, form, texture and space in a new way. Quite simply, working with Fred, or I should say, having Fred work his magic is a gift that keeps on giving.
