Twelve reviews, 4.9 stars, and not one of them written in the last decade — that gap is the first thing to understand about Sublime Construction Corporation. The company works out of 43 Howard St in Lynn under president Josue Torres, with five employees on file at the BBB, which lists it as started and incorporated in January 2011. Concrete is the through-line: retaining walls, flatwork, footings and foundations sit at the top of the services it advertises, and its own Houzz page describes it as a construction-management and landscaping contractor covering Essex County. The customers who wrote about it liked the concrete and yard work specifically. In a July 2015 review, a homeowner described the company arriving in 95-degree heat, finding two front steps too far gone to patch and replacing them outright, then fixing cracks in the cellar walls while on site. Another 2015 reviewer — a general contractor himself — listed brick repair, concrete, stairs, retaining walls and foundation repair and said he'd hire them again. Others from 2015 described sod installs and a spring clean-up. The owner comes up by name again and again in those accounts, showing up for estimates himself and following up on the work. What's changed since is the kind of job. Building permits filed between 2019 and 2024 across Beverly, Methuen, Danvers, Malden, Newbury, Rowley and Peabody run to decks, framing a single-family house, roofing, siding and windows, and bathroom remodeling — a broader general-contracting mix than the concrete-and-lawn work its customer reviews actually describe. Two of those permits show as expired and one as canceled. A few things to pin down before booking. Angi and HomeAdvisor both display a "BBB ACCREDITED BUSINESS A+" badge, but the BBB's own profile says plainly that this business is not accredited — the A+ rating and accreditation are separate things, and only the rating is real here. Both pages also print a star breakdown reading 100% five-star when two of the twelve reviews are 4.5. And while BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and the Angi profile self-reports a construction supervisor number, neither was confirmed against the state registry, so look both up yourself with the Office of Consumer Affairs before signing anything. If your job is concrete — a retaining wall, footings, a foundation, steps — this is a shop whose customers wrote specifically and warmly about that work, and the permit history shows it has kept building since. Just go in knowing the written praise is a decade old: ask for references from jobs finished in the last year or two, in the same trade as yours.

Very prompt and reliable. We hired Sublime Construction for two sod installs and the work was done quickly, well and for a good price. Excellent company, I highly recommend them

Great value, nice-clean work, Joshua was honest, reliable and started the job ahead of schedule. As a general contractor myself, I will be using these guys again. The work was brick repair, concrete, stairs, retaining walls, foundation repair. Finish product was exactly what I was looking for. Glad I found Sublime when I did. Great job guys!

Great customer service. Very attentive. They got someone to my place to do the work in less than 24 hours. And the guys that did the work were very nice and easy to direct with what I wanted done. (Job cost $1,500)

Joshua called within a few minutes of my placing the request and arranged to call the next day to give me an estimate for repair of two steps at the front of our house. The quoted price was very competitive and I agreed to hire them. They came Wednesday, worked in 95 degree heat and because the steps were in such bad condition they replaced my two steps completely. My wife also asked if they would fix some cracks in our cellar walls while they were here and again we were very satisfied with the price. The work was excellent, the workers very friendly and left a clean area after they had finished. Overall excellent experience and we are already talking about hiring them for another job we will need doing soon. Very highly recommended
