In March 2026 a commenter on r/Maine wrote that during the coldest week of the winter Superior Plus Propane took over four days to refill the propane tanks that heat their house and water. In January 2026 another r/Maine commenter wrote that they had ordered propane over a week earlier, at a reasonable level to order, and were just about on empty and still waiting. In February 2026 a prepaying customer posted that leftover funds from the year before did not show anywhere on their account. In December 2025 r/Maine commenters posted that the company had stopped answering its phones, that people were holding for over an hour on the emergency option, and asked whether urgent delivery requests now had to be mailed. Local news outlets have reported that Superior Plus Propane closed its offices in Maine and New Hampshire while still delivering fuel, and that it responded after Maine customers faced delays. In January 2025 an r/Maine post accused the company of charging $1.20 over the Maine state average, and in February 2025 a commenter wrote they had been charged $4.99 per gallon for propane. In September 2026 a different r/Maine commenter wrote that they had used the company for years, found it very reasonable and were locked in for the year at $2.72 per gallon. In an August 2022 one-star Google review, a customer wrote that they ordered oil at $3.99 and were charged $4.19 on delivery, a $27.70 overcharge, and never received the promised call back or refund.
