Surette Woodworking is an Amesbury-area carpentry shop centered on custom built-ins, finish work, cabinetry, trim, framing, and additions. Houzz lists Ken Surette as the founder and master carpenter, with a 5.0-star average from three ratings and one project; BuildZoom separately profiles Surette Woodworking Inc in Tewksbury. The written Houzz reviews are dated 2014–2015, but they are unusually specific. Homeowners describe bookcases, recessed lighting, fireplace mantels, cabinetry, molding, paneling, crown molding, bathroom beadboard, closets, garage cabinetry, framing, a second-floor addition, a portico, and a deck with pergola. They also describe detailed estimates, staying within budget, meeting promised deadlines, clear communication, and high-quality finished work. Before booking, ask for recent examples comparable to your project and confirm the current business address, because the profiles show Amesbury and Tewksbury locations. BuildZoom lists a Home Improvement Contractor license, but that directory statement is not a state-registry verification; confirm the current registration and the scope of any subcontracted work. Surette Woodworking looks best suited to homeowners who want hands-on carpentry and custom woodwork, from built-ins and cabinetry through larger additions. Request a current estimate, schedule, and references for similar work before signing.

“Grateful to Ken Surette of Surette Woodworking and everyone who helped bring this to life.”
Ken Surette was easy to work with, extremely flexible and professional! His finished products were a high quality of work and we have received numerous compliments on the projects he did in our home. He gave us a detailed budget/estimate at the start of each project and stuck to his budget (even coming in under budget in one of the projects!). His work was completed within the deadline promised and he did a good job of communicating his progress and the work to completion. Specifically, Ken built bookcases (built-ins with recessed lighting), fireplace mantle, cabinetry and molding in our family room, added paneling to our foyer and stairway, added crown molding to our foyer, added bead board walls to our bathroom, custom closets in master closet and cabinetry in our garage.

We have hired Surette Woodworking for several projects at our gut-rehab, circa 1880 home. Ken, the founder and master carpenter, has done a wonderful job on everything from framing and acting as the general contractor for the new construction of our second floor, to handcrafting detailed custom cabinetry and wood trim.

Ken, the founder and master carpenter, has done a wonderful job on everything from framing and acting as the general contractor for the new construction of our second floor, to handcrafting detailed custom cabinetry and wood trim. It is evident that Ken truly takes pride in his work and will put in extra effort to ensure that everything is done correctly and exceeds expectations. Ken has a good eye for design and is able to provide valuable input about both modern and colonial styles. He is extremely detail oriented and delivers finished products that are both functional and beautiful. Additionally, we trust Ken and his employees in our home. We would recommend Surette woodworking for both large and small projects.
I highly recommend Ken Surette for any home-improvement or construction projects you might have. He has completed several projects for me in a very professional manner and with the highest degree of craftsmanship.
