For most of its run, the reviews back up the longevity. Angi customers writing between 2012 and 2021 repeatedly described prompt, professional visits, several naming Steve or Stephen personally for vinyl liner installations, a pool heater job, and stair recoating handled with little disruption. A 2025 review called Sweetwater the most responsive pool company it had used in the region and pointed to leaks the crew fixed, both big jobs and small. The more recent reviews, mostly on Google since 2022, run rougher. A 2025 review said a liner installed in 2021 began splitting and that earlier fixes didn't hold. A 2024 review described a new pump installed incorrectly that left the skimmers barely drawing suction. A 2023 review said the pool was still cloudy after three opening visits, and a 2022 review said the posted hours were wrong when an emergency came up. Pricing draws complaints too: reviews from 2022 and 2024 describe pool-opening bills over $1,200, one flagging a $259 charge for chlorine tabs that ran roughly $100 above the online price, and a 2018 review said the company charged a stored card four months after the account was closed, without an invoice. Not every recent account is negative — a May 2026 review said the company came back out and made an issue right, and other five-star reviews run through the same stretch. The state registry lists its Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor registration, #120615, as expired. Given how the reviews split by era, get a written, itemized estimate — including any product markups — before work starts, and confirm the current license status and hours directly with the office.

I see there are some negative reviews on here, but I must say that Sweetwater has been far and away the most responsive and helpful pool company that I have experienced in the region. They have helped in big situations AND small situations.They've fixed leaks, troubleshooted chemical issues, and there has been very CLEAR communication. THANK YOU for your service (to owners AND workers at Sweetwater).
We had our new liner installed in April 2021, right away we started talking to them about several areas of the liner falling. They came and tried to bandaid it by placing rubber pieces in the pool that don’t hold. We opened the pool this year and the liner is splitting and the areas are falling even more. I was told we had to buy the new liner and pay for a new install even though we have communicated his issue. I would not recommend that ever. We were told this liner would last 15-20 years.
