Simply Josh Solutions is a one-person handyman and pool-service outfit working out of Quincy, on Boston's South Shore. Josh, the name on nearly every review, turns up for the calls other contractors skip — a stuck pool pump, a fridge that won't clear a cabinet, a fixture that fell off the wall — and reviewers keep coming back to the same two words: fast and thorough. Pool work is a recurring thread across the reviews: homeowners have called him for a leaking pump, an algae bloom, patched holes in an older gunite pool, and the seasonal spring opening, and several describe him taking time to explain what he was doing rather than just doing it. The rest of the work is classic handyman range — mounting a wall TV, assembling Ikea furniture, building a custom closet into an awkward corner, patching and painting basement walls, and, in one case, fixing a bird-damaged vent the same day he was called. One customer who used him for close to a year across multiple projects called him efficient and consistently on time or early, mentioning "Josh and team," which suggests he brings in help for bigger workloads. Every one of the 22 Google reviews on file, spanning 2021 through 2025, is five stars, and each is a full account of real work rather than a bare rating — a fridge worked around cabinetry, loose porch boards fixed on his way out, a leaking pool pump handled same-day. That consistency runs deep, though the volume is modest next to bigger South Shore outfits. Simply Josh is a strong call for pool troubleshooting and the kind of varied home-repair list that doesn't fit neatly into one trade, rather than a large-scale remodel — nothing in the reviews describes a full room renovation. Worth confirming project scope and scheduling directly, since he appears to work mostly solo.

After calling Goulart Pools last year for a recommendation, they provided Josh's information. He fixed my issue without fail. I had a pool pump issue this year and called Josh. Since he was extremely busy, Josh was kind enough to guide me over the phone and helped me identify and fix the problem. Such a great guy and I highly recommend him for your pool service needs.
Josh was an absolute miracle worker. Our old fridge died, and we had trouble finding a replacement because of a cabinet above the fridge spot in the wall, every fridge was going to be too tall and the cabinet was in the way. Josh came over, had no idea what to expect, spent some time talking through a solution, and eventually removed the cabinet completely, took it to his shop, made it about 3 inches shorter on all sides, came back the same day and re-installed it. Not only did he cut it perfectly straight, it’s level and looks good. Our new fridge fits perfectly. Clearly a great handyman overall, but this was more of a creative exercise that really required some thought and man he delivered big time. Would recommend in a heartbeat.
I have an old gunite swimming pool that was losing water. Josh made a couple of service calls and solved my problem. He is thorough and conscientious and follows up to make sure problem is solved.
Josh replaced my closet fixture that had fallen/broke. He did a great job. He was responsive, punctual, efficient. He even secured a couple of loose boards on my front porch that he noticed on his way out! I recommend his services and i will use him again for future projects.
Highly recommend Josh - in one visit, his advice and help fixed the algae problem in my pool. Very knowledgeable and I'd definitely hire him again!
