Symphony Home Improvement is a Burlington window-and-door specialist homeowners hire for full replacement jobs, from a handful of windows to a whole multi-family building. The company holds an active Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and carries an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, though it isn't a BBB-accredited business. Its Google page shows five stars from eight ratings, and the written reviews, spanning 2016 to 2021, tell a consistent story: homeowners praise owner Gary Rawding and his crews for walking through window options (the Softlite brand comes up more than once), finishing multi-window installs in a single day, and leaving houses noticeably quieter. An owner of a three-family and two-family property who replaced windows across four tenanted units in 2018 reported not one tenant complaint. In a 2021 review, a homeowner described a sales rep who, rather than push an unsuitable patio-slider project, recommended talking to a general contractor instead — the kind of call that builds trust even when it costs a sale. Worth knowing before booking: every written review on file dates from 2017 to 2021, so a fresh conversation about current crews and pricing is worth having up front. The company's own site claims 20+ years in the trade, but BBB records show it was established in 2014, about 11 years ago — worth asking which timeline they mean if longevity matters to you. Gary Rawding is also described elsewhere as running a related company, Symphony Concrete Coatings, so it's worth confirming which entity would actually do the work. For a straightforward window or door replacement in the Burlington area, the license is active and the reviews on file are uniformly positive about the installs themselves — just get specifics on timeline, crew, and which company is on the contract before signing.

We are planning on replacing two patio sliders with a combination slider and windows. I contacted Symphony via their website and received a response within a matter of hours to schedule an appointment. A few days later, Symphony Home Improvement sent their sales guy, Andy. Andy quickly assessed that this project was not a good fit for his company given the structural considerations raised by our project and our post and beam house construction. Rather than try and steer us away from our vision, Andy recommended we talk to general contractors and volunteered his 20 years of expertise in the window business to discuss, at length, what to look out for with the project, product options to consider and what to steer away from in his professional experience. He is a wealth of information and has a very deep knowledge of various window manufacturers including Pella, Andersen, ProVia, Harvey, Marvin, etc. As I told him, he would be a fantastic consultant for people to run large window/door proposals by and ensure you are getting what you think you are. Given that the window industry plays a lot of games with models (similar to the mattress industry for example) and isn’t exactly transparent about models/pricing with the general public, it is really hard for a consumer to ever know what you are truly buying. Andy would be the perfect ally to cut through that bs. While we won’t likely work with Symphony Home Improvement on this particular project, when it comes time to replace our regular windows, I will certainly make sure to call them back. Andy went above and beyond in every way even though he didn’t see a dollar sign at the end of this conversation. That says a lot about the company he works for and the trust Andy knows is essential to build with his customers.
My wife and I purchased an older home in North Shore Massachusetts right on the coast, and quickly found out that our current windows were not built to handle the heavy winds and colder temperatures in the area. The Symphony team ended up replacing 5 windows of ours, both large and small, and they look great! After getting several quotes from different window companies, it was an easy choice to go with Symphony Home Improvement. Their team was knowledgeable, informative, and competitively priced. The windows are doing a fantastic job retaining heat and keeping the wind out. The Softlite brand windows the Symphony team helped us pick out are both energy rated and coast rated, meaning they should handle the seacoast breezes we get for years to come. The Symphony team is polite, efficient, and cleaned up before leaving. My wife who is currently working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic was able to continue working without interruption, as the team was very cognizant of current pandemic protocols as well as house etiquette. If my wife and I need additional window work done, we will be sure to call Symphony Home Improvement, and recommend them to anyone looking to install or replace windows in their home.
I replaced all my windows in a three family and most of my windows in the two family I live in. From the salesperson (very knowledgeable and not pushy), the scheduler (who had to work around my schedule and was always pleasant and accommodating), to the installers who were trustworthy, efficient and cleaned up after themselves . My experience exceeded my expectations. My tenants all commented as to how much quieter their units were. The windows were installed in 4 tenanted units and there was not one complaint. The windows are great and pull in to clean without a fight! We are truly satisfied customers! Deb & Eric
I contacted Symphony this spring to look into improving on the replacement windows my home had when I bought it. I was a bit skeptical about whether it was worth it, considering I already had double-pane replacement windows, but I was very wrong. Gary showed us the different options, as well as a comparison to what we already had and we decided to go ahead with the project. A couple weeks later, in June, the Symphony team did the install in just one day (17 windows total) and the first thing we noticed was how quiet the house was. Neighbors with a lawnmower, dogs barking, motorcycles driving by - all vastly reduced by these windows. Now that the weather has turned cold, we couldn't be happier about the way our house has changed. no more drafts, no more cold rooms, and a heating bill that's less than half of what it was this month last year. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. The consult was informative, without any pressure at all. The install team was professional - even providing some entertainment for our 6 month old chocolate lab (he spent an hour looking for his friends after they finished). Best of all, the performance of the windows is better than I thought possible.
I needed new windows installed in my newly purchased home and found Symphony Home Improvement online in the fall of 2016. When we met with the company (Gary) to talk about window options and the install process, he was very informative and is very knowledgeable of the window industry. He showed us examples of different window brands and his Softlite windows appeared far superior compared to Harvey, Anderson, etc. We went with this option for 5 windows and had them installed in January 2017. The installation went extremely well and I am so happy with the windows (no drafts and no heat loss). I have had other window brands in the past, but these are the best (energy rated and coast rated since I live on the beach with often heavy winds. I love the windows and the professional work of the installation, I just had 4 more windows installed by Symphony Home Improvement in October 2017. Again, so happy and pleased with the finished work and the windows look so beautiful! Gary is very responsive always and does a great job managing the projects. His team of install specialists are so good at insulating the window frames and vacuum and clean everything when done. The install is also very quick, all while ensuring a quality job. I definitely recommend Symphony. I have a few more windows that need to be done and I will surely be using Symphony Home Improvement a third time!
