Raboin bills itself as "The Roofer That Other Roofers Call When They Can't Find The Leak," and leak-chasing on slate and copper is what the Lexington company sells. It says it has been doing that since 1922 — 104 years, the same figure its Better Business Bureau profile carries next to an A+ accreditation. Most of what customers have written is about the slate. A 2022 reviewer said Raboin came in at the most competitive price and repaired the slates quickly with matching materials. In 2020, another homeowner was happy enough with the first job to bring the crew back to replace slate roof valleys with copper, and in a 2015 review a homeowner described Raboin proposing a different repair than a competitor had, explaining why, and charging half the price. The most recent of those accounts, from January 2026, runs four stars: Tom returned the calls right away and answered the questions, the roofers arrived on time, the flowers were covered with a drop cloth, and the one-day job was finished by 12:30. Two accounts run the other way. In November 2024, a one-star Google reviewer described hiring Raboin to find a significant bathroom leak that appeared with every heavy rain, and wrote that he "claimed to have diagnosed and fixed it after we paid several thousand dollars for his work." Further back, a November 2018 Angi reviewer said Raboin took a deposit to replace slates, then did not show up or rescheduled four times over two weeks. The platform averages sit far apart as well: Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.3 stars across 84 ratings, while Google's two ratings average 2.5. The company's site cites Massachusetts Board of Regulations License #001642 and MA Home Improvement #100717; Angi and HomeAdvisor both list trade license 153619, and the BBB profile notes workers' compensation and liability insurance. For a slate or copper roof, chimney work, or a leak nobody has managed to trace, Raboin is a reasonable call — that is the work its customers describe hiring it for. Before you sign, get the diagnosis and whatever guarantee comes with it in writing, and settle the start date and deposit terms first.

Tom was very good to do business with and the job was fairly priced. He responded to my calls right away, answering all my questions. It was a one day job and they were done by 12:30! The roofers came on time, were careful to protect my flowers with a drop cloth and cleaned up well when they were done. Tom stopped in to check on the job and update us on the progress! I am very happy with the job they did start to finish! I highly recommend using Mr. Raboin and crew for your roofing needs! *****one thing I really wish the crew would not be so scared to approach the mailboxes to take check payments, since I had to mail my final payment in.
Calls himself "the roofer's roofer". Hired him to diagnose a significant leak that would occur in the bathroom each time there was a heavy rain. He claimed to have diagnosed and fixed it after we paid several thousand dollars for his work. But despite his "guarantee" when we called him back several months later after experiencing the same leak after a heavy rain, he insisted it was something new and not under guarantee and offered to fix it for additional money. Mighty suspicious, if you ask me. A roofer's roofer? Hardly.
Raboin had by far the most competitive price and appeared to have the expertise to back it up. The slates were repaired quickly with matching materials. Im very happy I went with Raboin for this job.
Workers were so timely and respectful, that we hired Raboin for an additional job to replace our slate roof valleys with copper. Once again workers were wonderful and cleaned up everything when they were done.
They took my deposit to replace slates on my home, then didnt show up or rescheduled 4 times over a two week period.
