The Armstrong Company's Canton, MA office — some customers know it by its earlier name, Humboldt, or as "Humboldt/Armstrong" — is the Boston-market branch of a national moving, storage and logistics company that says it started in Memphis, TN in 1957 and has grown, over three generations of family ownership, into a nationwide network. On Google, it holds a 4.6-star average across 233 ratings, and this July a customer praised the crew's efficiency and care, from a careful piano move to somehow getting a Peloton bike upstairs. That kind of specific, detail-oriented praise runs through a much longer history too — the company has been reviewed well over 100 times since 2021 across several sites. But that same length of track record also surfaces a real, recurring theme worth taking seriously: several separate customers, spread across different years, describe damage to belongings and difficulty getting claims resolved — a storage delivery delayed days by a broken-down trailer that arrived with damaged wood furniture, sofas returned filthy from temporary storage with a cleaning claim denied, an international move where insured items were never reimbursed, and a cross-country move where loading and unloading went fine but something happened in between that left the customer calling it a disaster. One other account describes a late, dishonest crew and lost items. None of that shows up in the last six months, and the sheer volume of positive reviews suggests these are the exception rather than the rule — but given how specific and how repeated the damage-and-claims pattern is across a multi-year history, it's worth asking directly about the claims process and getting valuation coverage spelled out before a long-distance or storage-involved move. For a well-established, nationally backed mover with deep local roots in the Boston area, this is a reasonable call for a local or long-distance relocation — just don't skip the insurance conversation, and get delivery windows and claims timelines in writing before the truck arrives.

Excellent communication throughout. Efficient, friendly on the day of move. How they got the peloton upstairs is a mystery. Even handled piano with care. Highly recommend!

Do NOT under any circumstances book this company. They were 3 hours late for the pickup. Also were late bringing them to the new location. Repeatedly kept lying to me over the course of the move out day, forgot many items and I had to drive back to a different state to pick them up myself. Supposedly they would give me a partial refund considering the extremely low quality service they had. They lied about this as well, overcharged me. I have pictures and videos documenting everything. Most of the packing had already been done by myself.

I have moved to various countries and cities...This company was the worst service I have ever come across by a landslide.

Jim Sullivan at Armstrong is one of the best guys around. He helped coordinate a move for a family piano to our new house. The movers Benjamin and Jason showed up on time and made sure to do an excellent job protecting the piano and moving it with extreme care. It’s the little things that make all the big difference such as great communication, showing up right on schedule and putting moving mats down in your hallways that set Armstrong apart. Would highly recommend.

I've moved cross country twice and my first time (not with Armstrong) was not a great experience. This time around I was nervous and scared I'd go with the wrong company. Armstrong, which is a United Van Line affiliate, came to my house did a throrough quote and we were impressed by what they promised: 1 point of contact for admin, 1 point of contact and driver for the actual cross country move.

They delivered on that promise and on a great service. The loading was so smooth and the guys were wonderful. I felt like my stuff was in trusted hands and they problem solved some stuff that my past movers didn't even try. Like getting a vintage farmtable out when the doorway was too small. These guys safely popped a window and tetris-ed it out!

The move itself took 4-5 days a few days earlier than promise and the move-in was equally as smooth. No fuss and no issues. Timely and pleasant. I could not more highly recommend these folks.

Special shout out to Dawn, our concierge who was on top of almost all of it. To be honest, she only missed a few notifications because the driver was way faster than expected! A great problem to have in my opinion.

Outstanding!!!! I could not have asked for a better moving experience. My moving contact at Armstrong was excellent at checking in several weeks from the move to days before the move and the day of to make sure everything was on schedule and going well. The movers themselves were professional and so careful with my belongings! Super team all the way around!!! Armstrong took the stress out of the actual moving experience!
