The Best Iron Works | Custom Railing and Iron Experts | Massachussetts

The Best Iron Works keeps stacking five-star reviews for the same kind of job: a custom railing, a spiral staircase, a gate built for an awkward spot. Thumbtack puts it at 4.9 stars across 54 ratings — 98% of them five stars — and Google shows 4.9 from 33. Founder Marcelo De Abreu runs the Peabody shop, which the company's site describes as having 'over three decades' building and repairing ironwork — railings, gates, fences, spiral staircases, fire escapes and structural steel — for homes and businesses. Recent Thumbtack reviews from April and May 2026 describe a window-well grate finished at a fair price and a railing job one customer called meticulous, straight-through work. Older reviews tell the same story with different projects: a spiral staircase built into a finished attic office in 2025, a truck rack cut and welded to fit a customer's Ford in late 2025, front-step handrails a condo association referred a resident to in 2025, and — going back to 2021 — a set of handrails built after the crew invited the homeowner to stop by during fabrication. One 2024 Google review is a clear outlier: the customer called the other reviews 'fake,' waited three days for a callback, found the receptionist short with her, and said the team member sent to measure her stairs didn't speak English well. Spanish is spoken on the team, and free estimates are offered, per its Angi and HomeAdvisor profiles. Confirm current licensing and insurance and get the scope and price in writing — several customers describe jobs moving from measuring to installation within about a week, so ask about the timeline for a project this size.
