We hired Derrick to paint our kitchen cabinets as they are outdated, we let him know that we were looking for someone to sand them and spray them so that the paint would be applied evenly. Derrick agreed to the job however showed up late everyday, which is inconsiderate as we had to adjust our work schedules to be home for him to work. Derrick began painting the cabinets with a brush and when asked why he wasn't spraying them we were given multiple excuses as to why he wouldn't do it (it's too cold, didn't bring heater, this paint will level itself out and you won't see any brushstrokes). Well, we saw brush strokes and ask that he return to the plan of spraying just the cabinet doors, Derrick refused so we did not continue with his services. He could not give us a timeline as to when the job might be finished or what the process looked like, communication is definitely an issue.
We had a first floor and partial second floor renovation/update with paint, kitchen cabinets countertops, bathroom toilets and vanity among other several other services. Everything was completed upon a 2 phase renovation. Derrick and Rob were both professional and trusting. I would hire them again!
Derrick did a variety of jobs for me from replacing light fixtures to replacing rotted wood trim around windows and deck. I was very happy with his work. He is honest and reliable, polite and extremely reasonably priced. He was always there when he said would be. I would recommend him without hesitation!
I hired The Handyman twice for two small projects and I was extremely happy with their work. In both cases they exceeded my expectations and were professional, courteous and dependable.
I don't write reviews often, but I was very pleased with Derrick's work. We were able to agree on a reasonable price. We started with a small job of replacing a bathroom faucet. Then we moved on to the kitchen backsplash. He started the job on the day we set and arrived on time. Really love how it enhanced the look. He also did a wall in the basement. Cleaned up after each job. I know who I'll call the next time we need anything done. Thanks Derrick
