The Persnickety Painters is a Manchester, New Hampshire painting company led by David Miller, who says he has painted professionally since the 1990s and returned to the trade in 2011. The company handles interior and exterior painting, cabinet and built-in refinishing, deck and porch work, drywall and plaster repairs, pressure washing, and related preparation. Its website identifies David as owner and lead project manager, lists an EPA lead-paint certification, and says the business is fully insured. Homeowners consistently describe careful preparation, crisp finishes, protection of furnishings, and clean work areas. Reviews cover whole-home interiors, ceilings, trim and doors, kitchens and cabinets, exterior siding, decks, wallpaper and texture removal, plaster repairs, and power washing. Several detailed accounts describe cabinet doors being sprayed off-site, difficult cathedral ceilings completed cleanly, water-damaged ceilings repaired to match surrounding surfaces, and multi-room projects finished on tight schedules. Reviewers also repeatedly mention clear estimates, progress updates, color guidance, responsive communication, and crews who are respectful in occupied homes. The all-time record spans 2023–2026, with 82 reviews across four sources; a 2026 Houzz profile shows a 5-star rating from one review. One Google reviewer said the company came out, took photos, and promised a price and schedule but did not follow up, attributing the silence to the company being busy with realtors. That is a specific scheduling concern to raise before booking, especially for short-notice work. The website says projects are served in Manchester and surrounding areas within a 25-mile radius, so confirm that the job address, timing, crew, repair scope, and any cabinet or off-site spraying logistics fit the current schedule. They are a strong fit for homeowners seeking detailed interior or exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and careful preparation or repair work. Ask for a written scope and estimate, confirm the proposed start and completion dates, and request the current insurance and lead-paint-certification details for the project.
We recently moved to Penacook. We had only a short time before our furniture arrived, and our new house needed lots of interior painting. We contacted David. He met us at the house, looked over our rooms, listened to our thoughts on colors and styles of paints, and promised us that we would get an estimate. The next day, we got a thorough estimate, reviewed the scope, tweaked it a little, and placed our order. He promised us that they would be done before the furniture arrived. Right on schedule, the crew arrived, and got right to work. Everyone on the crew was professional, careful, considerate, and helpful. They even were able to solve little problems that always crop up, like the patch of one ceiling that needed some TLC. They did a great job, on budget, on time, and best of all, with a high quality of craftsmanship. On a scale of one to five, I would rank them a ten!
Huge thank you to David and his team for a job well done painting the whole interior of our new house! David was thorough in our initial walk through and so pleasant to work with. He was responsive before, during, and even after the job was done. Pricing was laid out very easily and we loved being able to see the cost of each room with the software David provided. The interior walls, trim, and ceilings are transformed and everything looks absolutely perfect! Can’t thank you enough for all your hard work on our house. Would HIGHLY recommend The Persnickety Painters and they will be our only call for any future painting needs!
Great guy came right out took photos said he would get back with a price and schedule! Nothing? I think he's very busy with realtors
I needed some interior and exterior painting done quickly. It was done in a single day. David and Deni knocked it out quickly and it looks great. I will definitely use them next time I have a a painting job.
Had Persnickity Painters come and remove our textured ceilings when we closed on a new house. It was urgent because it’s a messy process and we wanted it done before we moved in. Their team killed it! They scraped and sanded the texture off, skim coated the entire house and painted 2 coats without getting a drop of paint on the walls or floor. They were easy to talk to and made the process comfortable. Photos show the work. Last photo is the original “stomp” texture.
