NH Total Home Care is a Manchester, New Hampshire outfit built around one thing: showing up for a full house's worth of small and large jobs, then coming back when the next one turns up. The company describes itself as family-owned, founded by Norm Hebert in 2001 after he started out helping friends, family, and neighbors with projects around the house — today it says it covers towns from Bedford and Nashua to Concord and Derry. The clearest theme across its 4.9-star run on 34 Google ratings is repeat business. A steady stream of reviewers say they've called the company back for a second, third, or fourth project — everything from a full basement finish that added two bedrooms, a bathroom, a utility room, and a hangout space, to a kitchen remodel where the owner personally mapped out the layout with the homeowner before the crew got to work. One family needed an accessible bathroom built quickly for an elder relative in an older farmhouse, on a tight timeline, and called the result a standout job. Others mention new window installs, an outdoor sauna built from a kit, and a set of custom exterior steps and a landing designed around the homeowner's input. Communication comes up almost as often as the work itself — reviewers describe prompt scheduling, clean job sites, and being kept informed as a project moved along. The one sour note is a 2022 review describing a stair baluster repair as rushed, with crooked balusters and loose cover pieces; it stands alone against a run of five-star reviews before and after it. Better Business Bureau lists the company as A+-rated and accredited, which lines up with the tone of its online reviews — though BBB dates the business at 21 years while the company's own site puts its start in 2001, roughly 25 years back, so the exact tenure is worth a quick question if it matters to you. New Hampshire doesn't run a statewide registration for general remodeling or handyman work, so there's no license to check here. For a homeowner weighing a bathroom, kitchen, or basement project — or a backlog of odd jobs — this reads as a company people keep re-hiring rather than trying once. Before booking, it's worth asking how a complaint like the 2022 baluster job would be handled today, and getting a clear scope and timeline in writing, the way past clients describe doing.
Nice job. Thank you
Highly recommend! Very responsive and knowledgeable. Have used them several times for a variety of projects
I don’t have enough good things to say about NH Total Home Care! They were personally recommended to me by a friend whose fiancé works in a similar field. I needed a big job: full basement finishing and remodel. 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, utility room, and a hang out area (we haven’t gotten the furniture for that part yet). They finished the job faster than I could have imagined and were extremely timely. All the workers were friendly and respectful. Rachel, the Operations Manager, was truly unbelievable. Her communication and personality is top notch. It’s rare to have a woman in charge of a company in this field, but out of all the interviews I did, she was the reason I trusted my gut and hired them. And I am SO glad I did. I will be hiring them for every home project I ever need in the future.
Jesse is so personable and took the time to map out our kitchen just the way we wanted it and his team did not disappoint! Scott was amazing and his attention to detail is impeccable! Couldn't be happier with how our kitchen turned out!
I've used NH Total Home Care for several projects. From the very first consultation to the final walk-through, their team was professional, communicative, and truly cared about doing the job right. They handled everything from minor repairs to larger renovations with skill and attention to detail, and every project has exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend NH Total Home Care for any home improvement or repair needs — honest, reliable, and exceptional quality!
