The Wachusett Painter

Stripping and sanding a badly weathered mahogany deck, then applying a new oil finish: that is the work an August 2026 customer described hiring The Wachusett Painter to do. Another August reviewer hired Derek to paint a deck after seeing his work on their sister's garage. They praised his price, attention to detail and efficient work despite humid conditions. A June 2026 customer described a painted garage and praised his promptness and neatness while preparing their house for sale. The company offers residential interior, exterior and cabinet painting and refinishing in the Wachusett area. Its website says it has been based in Holden since 2005. Google shows a five-star average from 30 ratings. Inside homes, customers describe both painting and the preparation behind it. In an April 2024 review, a homeowner said Derek painted three bedrooms while they remained in the house, moved furniture and cleaned up daily. A January 2024 customer described repairs and painting to two ceilings, plus bathroom painting. They praised his communication, accommodation of their living in the space and leaving it as he found it. In November 2025, a customer described painting two hallways and a staircase and praised his attention to detail. Cabinet work has its own detailed accounts. A June 2022 reviewer said Derek removed their kitchen cabinet doors to paint at his shop, painted the frames in the kitchen and put everything back. They said he kept to a schedule and cleaned as he worked. A December 2021 homeowner described hard plaster walls left rough after removing years of wallpaper. Derek restored them to a smooth, paintable surface and also worked on the kitchen cabinets, with repeated sanding and washing before priming. Refinishing extends to furniture, too. In February 2023, a customer described a water-stained office desk that Derek sanded, stained and varnished, leaving the area cleaner than when he arrived. In a December 2024 review, another customer said they hired him to paint their house again after first using him 15 years earlier, and praised the result.
