Thomas Interior Painting is a Boston-based crew Tom Carten has run since 1989 — the company's own history says as much, and 37 years under one name means today's Google page and BBB file are just the latest chapter. It works Boston proper along with towns like Quincy, Milton, Wellesley, Braintree, and Sharon, sticking to interior and exterior house painting plus the jobs that ride along with it — plaster and sheetrock repair, staining, and deck or cabinet painting. The reviews line up with that longevity: 22 of them have piled up since 2022 across Google, the company's site, and elsewhere, and the tone rarely dips — a 5-star average on 26 Google ratings, and an A+ Better Business Bureau file with no complaints logged. The most recent, posted this June, is a repeat customer whose praise reads like a checklist come true: the crew is "extremely dependable, polite, friendly," cleans up at the end of every day, and finishes on schedule. Older reviews describe the same pattern — quotes turned around quickly, crews starting on the day they promised — so this isn't a one-off account. One thing worth knowing going in: Thomas Interior Painting isn't a BBB-accredited business, even with the A+ grade — it simply hasn't gone through that formal process. And the pace of new reviews has been modest lately, just two in the last six months, so it's worth asking directly about current scheduling and crew availability rather than assuming decades of history means an easy opening. For a straightforward interior or exterior repaint — walls, trim, a deck, cabinets — this is a company with decades of the same name behind the work and little in its record to second-guess. Get a firm start date and crew size confirmed before signing, and the track record here does the rest of the talking.

Hired Thomas Interior Painting to paint four rooms in an apartment in South Boston. I called nine companies, Thomas Interior being the last one. They actually picked up the phone, where the others you had to leave a voicemail message. Six of those nine other companies didn’t bother to even call back. Made arrangements for the owner to come out and give me a price for the four rooms. He was on time and provided a quote within 24 hours. I hired them and they started and finished on time and did a great job! If you need work done, call them first, you won’t be sorry!
