Thomas J O'Neill Inc.

Thomas J. O'Neill Inc. is a Mashpee, MA custom home design-build firm led by owner Tom O'Neill, holding an active Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor license and offering house plans, custom home construction, additions, remodeling, landscape design and custom cabinetry as general contractor from permitting through delivery across Cape Cod. Nine of ten reviews on file, from 2020 to 2024 across Google, Houzz and BuildZoom, are strongly positive and highly specific, describing full custom home builds, teardown/rebuilds of retirement homes, additions, and whole-house remodels of homes up to 6,000 square feet. Reviewers repeatedly credit Tom personally for hands-on design work — including on-the-spot hand drawings — coordinating the whole project from permitting through interior design and landscaping, and delivering high-craftsmanship custom cabinetry and built-ins, several saying results exceeded their expectations. One 2020 BuildZoom review is a serious exception: the reviewer describes a project that was due to finish in January 2019 and remained unfinished, alleges the business abandoned the project, and says they know other clients with similar complaints. Nothing more recent on file repeats this account, but it is a specific, substantive complaint worth asking about directly before hiring. With decades of experience, an A+ BBB rating, and a strong majority of detailed, high-praise reviews, Thomas J. O'Neill Inc. is a credible choice for a high-end Cape Cod custom home project — but the one abandonment complaint means homeowners should get a firm, written timeline and check references before committing to a larger project.
