Tim Evans Electrician is a one-man electrical business working out of 73 Coes St in Worcester, MA. The site is written in the first person by Tim Evans himself, who describes 35 years of hands-on experience and residential and light commercial work — wiring upgrades, panel installations, lighting, security and smart-home systems, and troubleshooting. The reviews that exist are unusually specific about what he declines to do. A 2024 reviewer who needed a 240-volt outlet for a new AC unit says Tim was the only electrician of several called who returned the message, came the next day, and then advised against swapping the outlet because the cost was not worth it. Another 2024 reviewer says he talked them through power problems by phone without charging, and only came out when it was actually necessary. A 2021 reviewer whose basement lost power says he arrived within the hour, spent five to ten minutes reorganising old wiring, charged a discounted fee, and flagged the panel for future replacement. The most detailed account, from 2022, describes a spa installation done to code with the correct panel breakers and exterior emergency disconnects, during which he found and exposed hidden work a previous emergency electrician had covered up in the panel. Two things to weigh. First, the credential is his own claim: the site says licensed and insured, but no state registry record was matched to this business in this scan, so confirm the licence number with the Commonwealth before hiring. Second, the record is thin and dated — Google publishes 4.8 stars from 20 ratings, but only five review bodies are retrievable and the newest is from 2024, so there is nothing here describing recent work.
“Call Tim Evans (near coos pond).”
I moved down to the Worcestor area back in 2020. At the time, I purchased an AC unit before moving into our home, but it turned out that the unit required a 240 volt outlet instead of the standard 120 volt. I called a handful of electricians and companies that had high ratings and left voicemails detailing my issue and what I wanted done. Tim was the only one who responded and he was prompt in his response. He came over the next day and we talked about what I needed and why, and he ended up advising me to not swap out the outlet as the cost just wasn't worth it. He was also kind enough to not even charge me a service fee even though he came out to my home. I went with the alternative he recommended, and it worked out perfectly. Since then, I've called Tim for any electrical problems I've run into over the years. What I appreciate the most about Tim is that when I call with an issue, he'll try to walk me through it to see if it's something simple enough that he can guide me though to a solution, at no charge. And often times the issues end up being relatively simple and he's helped me avoid any service fees when a lot of other businesses would take advantage of my lack of expertise with electrical problems. More recently, I had an issue with a section of my home losing power over the weekend, where the breakers for 9(!) areas tripped. I called Tim and he was able to diagnose the issue almost immediately. He showed up the next day and replaced the impacted breakers in a little over an hour. He also walked through my home with me to check and confirm that all the lights and outlets were working correctly. I cross referenced the work he did with what the typical pricing for the same work is for on Google and he gave me a very fair price. Tim is also very personable and he's always willing to share his knowledge about the work he's performing. I've actually recommended him to colleagues and friends, some of whom have called him for his services and they have been more than satisfied with the work he's provided. If you're looking for an honest and fair electrician, I highly recommend Tim.
Tim has been such an amazing person, he helped me multiple times with my power issues without charging me, he would give me instruction on how to proceed and boom once it worked, he would explain me the root cause and why it happened. Such a great professional, he would only come if necessary before charging me. I must say between all the electricians I dealt in the past, he is the winner. He really cares about his customers, he builds relationship and assist, that is what a call a great customer service. I would recommend him anytime.
Tim was quick, responsive, and professional. We called him for a spa installation, and he knew how to approach the job properly, installing to code with the correct panel breakers and emergency exterior breakers. Additionally, he helped uncover some shady electric work that was covered up by previous electricians that were called during emergencies. One example: Our boiler broke in the mid of winter last year. We had to call for an emergency installation. The electrician that was sub'd out by our energy company snipped some wires and hid them up in the top of the panel, then proceeded to call us to come and fix issues months later. Tim uncovered these issues and fixed them with ease, repairing some outlets and lights which suddenly did not work since the boiler visit. He did this in addition to the job he was hired for and only charged us for some additional time. He was very fair, and I'd recommend him for all electrical needs.
Tim did a great job doing electrical work in my home. He responded quickly and came out the next day to conduct work. He fixed everything in a timely manner and was very professional. If I ever need work done again I'll be sure to call him.
Tim came to my home within the hour of me calling him when the power went out in my basement. He spent 5-10 minutes. He informed me that electrical wires and the box were old and probably rubbing the wrong way. He reorganized them and said to call him and he would come back out and replace the box. He charged me a discounted fee. I haven’t had anymore issues but plan to call him if do.
