Tint King has been putting film on Massachusetts windows since 1983, when Brian Timm — who goes by "The Tint King" — trained under the original Tint King, Hans Doller, in Florida, and brought the trade back to Billerica. Forty-plus years later it's still Timm's shop, and the reviews read like a client list that never leaves: customers describe bringing in a third, fourth, or sixth vehicle over the years. The volume backs that loyalty up: 4.8 stars across 863 Google ratings, plus 4.9 from 21 on both Angi and HomeAdvisor, and a Better Business Bureau page that carries an A+. Recent visits keep repeating the same notes — same-day or next-day appointments, a clean waiting room, and staff who talk customers through tint percentages and ceramic film options rather than upselling. The shop's own site says it also handles home and office window tinting, paint protection film and decorative window film, and a 2024 review described the crew tinting a set of skylights to cut down on rug fading, installed on the spot in about half an hour, with the team turning down one skylight that wasn't a good candidate rather than force the job. The written record isn't spotless. In a 2025 review, a customer described a rear window that stayed bubbled after a re-tint and said a promised follow-up never came. A 2024 review from a customer going back to 2010 said a paint protection film job fell short of the tint work they'd always trusted. Both stand in contrast to a 2023 account where the shop's Michelle reached out after a bad review, tracked down a warranty claim the customer thought had gone unanswered, and replaced a rear tint at no charge under Llumar's lifetime warranty — a recovery worth noting, but not something every account describes. For a straightforward car tint, this is a shop with decades of repeat customers and brand warranties behind the work. Before booking something less routine — a paint protection film job or a specialty film — it's worth asking directly how they'd handle a redo if the result isn't right the first time.
