Bathroom remodels are the clearest recent through-line here. In the last few months, homeowners have written about TLC General Contractors handling bathroom work, a broader home renovation, an ADU project still underway, and a fast-moving commercial job that needed permits and after-hours work to get a business open. The company says it is based in Peabody, serves North Shore communities around it, and was founded by Julliana Lugo as a woman-owned construction company offering remodeling and general contracting services that include bathrooms, kitchens, basements, flooring, additions, exteriors, decks, and property management. The review history is substantial for a local remodeler: Google shows 4.9 stars from 56 ratings, and there are 50 reviews across seven sources from 2024 to 2026. The recent pattern is mostly strong. On Google, a March bathroom-remodel customer praised regular updates, responsiveness from the owner and project manager, and the finished result. Another March reviewer said TLC helped them through a home renovation on a tight deadline before a baby arrived, and a commercial client wrote that the crew moved quickly, caught up permits, and worked after hours to keep the opening on track. An April reviewer, still early in an ADU project, singled out the team's help with extensive paperwork. The main thing to ask about before signing is jobsite control and cleanup. One February Google reviewer described cheap work, said they later hired pest control, and blamed trash bags of food left in the condo by cleaners. That is a specific complaint about the work environment, and it matters more than a generic compliment. If you're considering TLC for an occupied home, pin down who is supervising the site day to day, how debris and food waste are handled, and what the punch-list process looks like if something goes wrong. It is also worth clarifying credentials and company timeline directly with them. Massachusetts shows an active home improvement contractor license, and the company lists OSHA certification on its site; Houzz also lists OSHA plus other credentials. But the sources do not line up neatly on age and identity: BBB says 2 years in business, while a Houzz profile in the packet is for TLC Custom Design LLC in Wakefield and says 21 years of experience. TLC looks like the better fit for homeowners who want a general contractor that can manage remodeling logistics, communication, and permit-heavy work rather than just a single small trade call. Before booking, confirm who will run your project, how cleanup is handled in the home, and which license numbers and business entity apply to your contract.

This is a preliminary review since our ADU project with TLC is still in the early stages, but so far we’ve been very happy working with them. They’ve been responsive, professional, and easy to work with, and we especially appreciated their help completing the extensive paperwork required for the state-sponsored Home Modification Loan Program (HMLP). That support made a complicated part of the process much easier. We’ll update this review as the project moves forward, but at this stage we’re glad we chose TLC.

I can’t recommend TLC General Contractors enough!

I had been putting off a project for months because I felt overwhelmed and honestly a little intimidated by the whole process (and the potential cost). A friend recommended Julliana and her team at TLC, and I’m so glad she did.

I reached out to Julliana via text, and within 24 hours she had not only responded but also coordinated for her electrician, Alphonso, to come by and take a look. Within just a few hours after that, I had a clear, detailed quote. Julliana came by the next to check on some things herself and answer a few additional questions I had.

From start to finish, the entire project was completed in just three days.

Julliana and Alphonso were both incredibly professional, communicative, and efficient - and just genuinely pleasant to work with. Everything felt straightforward and stress-free, which is exactly what I needed.

As a female business owner myself, it also meant a lot to support a female-led company and to feel so comfortable throughout the process.

If you’re in the North Shore/Boston area and need anything from electrical to plumbing to general contracting, TLC truly does it all. We already have plans for my next project!

TLC was absolutely amazing — I would 1000% recommend them for any project. We brought them in for a commercial job and needed things done FAST to get our business up and running properly. They jumped in immediately, got us fully caught up on permits, and even worked after hours to make sure we could reopen as quickly as possible.

Julianna made the entire process so easy. I didn’t have to think about what needed to be done or who to coordinate with — she handled everything seamlessly, from communication with the city to managing her team. It truly felt stress-free on our end.

We won’t be using anyone else moving forward. Don’t make the mistake of going with someone else first — go with TLC right from the start.

We are so happy that we chose TLC to remodel our bathrooms. The quality of their work is exceptional, the owner and project manager are very responsive, provided regular updates and were eager to make sure that we are completely satisfied with the finished project. We are! The work crew was also awesome. I have a feeling that we will contact TLC for future home projects.

We had a great experience working with TLC during our home renovation. We were on a very tight timeline because I was pregnant and hoping to have everything finished before the baby arrived, which made the process stressful at times. They were incredibly patient, understanding, and supportive throughout the entire project.

They truly followed through on their commitments and worked hard to keep things moving forward. We really appreciated their professionalism, communication, and willingness to work with us during such an important time. We’re very grateful for their help in bringing our renovation together and would happily work with them again.
