Tony's Fence Company

Tony's Fence Company works out of a showroom on River Street in Hyde Park, fabricating and installing wood, vinyl, chain-link, iron and aluminum fences along with gates, pergolas and arbors for homeowners and businesses. The company says it has been doing this since 1985, and it's now run by Bogdan Kravchuk, who took over from founders Antoni and Irena Kruczynski and Piotr Kierczak in 2017 and also owns B&M Fence. It lists a membership in the American Fence Association. On Google, the reviews that exist lean strongly positive — customers single out Bogdan and the crew for staying in touch through a project and sticking around after installation, with one describing a comfortable experience navigating quotes as a first-time client. A Reddit commenter in a 2024 r/boston thread named them, unprompted, as a good fencing pick. The exception is a 2025 review describing a month-long wait for a promised proposal that never showed up, after which the customer took the job elsewhere. BBB has carried the company (also doing business as Baystate Fence) since 1990 with an A+ rating and no complaints or actions on file, though it isn't a BBB-accredited business. Worth asking about directly: the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration checks out as expired against the state registry. Fencing-only work is one of the trades Massachusetts exempts from HIC registration, but this business held one and let it lapse, so it's worth confirming current standing and insurance before signing anything. For a straightforward wood, vinyl or metal fence job from a shop that has been doing this in Hyde Park for decades, Tony's is a reasonable call — just get a firm proposal in writing before committing, given the one account of a quote that never arrived.
