In October 2026 a Google reviewer wrote that their elderly parents' roof is leaking under Trinity Solar panels, with buckets set out to catch the water, and that Trinity is asking about $9000 to remove the panels. The reviewer wrote that Trinity said Sunnova is responsible, that Sunnova is now out of business, and that the family has been trying to reach Trinity for years. Trinity Solar is a Cheshire, Connecticut solar and roofing company with an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration (HIC.0671385). Its site says it has been in business for three decades in one place and 25 years in another, and it lists free estimates, 24/7 emergency service and insurance. In September 2026 a Google reviewer wrote that Johnathan answered their questions, delivered the roof and solar panels as planned, and that a bill of more than $500 a month has dropped to nothing. In an August 2024 review, a Fairfield, CT customer wrote that the project took longer because of the town, that project manager Andrew Ciartelli was responsive, and that the system produced a bit more in its first year than the estimate. A June 2023 reviewer wrote that Trinity contacted the town and UI, pulled all permits and was on premises for inspections, start to finish in about six months. In December 2025 a reviewer wrote that a Trinity roofing crew completed a roof in one day with a careful cleanup. A December 2024 one-star reviewer wrote that installation started nine months after signing, and about an hour after holes went into the roof they were told the last part was 40 more weeks away, with no way to cancel. In a December 2025 r/connecticut post, a commenter warned that Trinity Solar salespeople were inappropriate in their home and kept contacting them after numerous declines; another wrote that the first thing an in-home salesperson asked was about their relationship with their father. In March 2025 a commenter described a pushy Trinity Solar salesperson who tried to come inside, and a former door-to-door seller wrote that they were taught to ignore no soliciting signs. In a May 2025 thread a commenter wrote that Trinity insisted their roof was fine until a roofing company found it had to be replaced first. On Google it holds 4.5 stars from 1207 ratings.
“After having interviewed both Trinity and Sunrun, there is no way I would touch either. They get all the benefits. You perhaps get some energy credits. The only way I would put solar on my house ( and I would if trees werent' an issue) is an out right purchase where I keep all the credits and benefits.”
“To warn people about Trinitysolar's salespeople, who in my experience were inappropriate in my home, have been harassing me repeatedly after numerous declines, then use scare tactics when you decline them.”
“Did you post the crazy unprofessional and hostile language from the Trinity Solar rep yet?”
“I already turned Trinity Solar down once after an in-home visit where the *first thing* the salesperson said to me was: “How’s your relationship with your father?” I’ve been estranged from him for 15 years. Completely inappropriate.”
“We had a great experience with Trinity Solar but a bunch of people on here get really butthurt when I mention it, because they themselves did not have good experiences. 🤷🏽♂️ I have no basis for comparison, but the process with seamless and we are saving a lot of money. We financed our panels.”
