TruBlue Home Service Ally of Newton-Wellesley is a young handyman franchise covering Newton, Wellesley, Dedham, Needham and the surrounding Route 128 suburbs west of Boston. Franchise trade coverage from January 2026 describes the location's focus on helping seniors in Dedham, Needham and nearby towns, and a March 2026 LinkedIn post traces its opening back to owner Brian Keaney's own experience getting a family member's home ready after a rehabilitation stay. The five reviews on file, spanning October 2025 through August 2026 on Thumbtack, all point to the same thing: Brian shows up himself. In an October 2025 review, a customer described him assembling a shipped wheelchair in a couple of minutes and refusing any payment for it. A January 2026 review tells a similar story — the crew talked the customer out of a redundant task rather than charge for it, then installed a thermal door insulation blanket she was happy with. The most recent review, from August 2026, again names Brian directly and praises his care around an older home's original details. Thumbtack's own tally is a 4.3-star average across 12 ratings, but about 17% of those sit at one star — reviews that aren't part of what's shown here, so it's worth asking directly about any recent issues before booking. The business is also brand new, listed at about a year old on Thumbtack, so this handful of reviews is close to the whole track record so far. For general handyman fixes, door and window work, or basic home-safety adjustments, that early record reads well — just confirm scope and pricing up front given how little history there is to lean on.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Trublue Home Services Ally Of Newton Wellesley. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

“The former writer and marketing professional from Newton-Wellesley, Massachusetts, watched his grandfather return home from a rehabilitation stay and realized immediately that the house wasn't ready -- and that most families simply don't have the technical skills or bandwidth to make it safe on short notice.”

Brian was knowledgeable about what the job would entail. He was receptive to our wanting to maintain the integrity of the are and character of the house. He was sympathetic to our woes of previous tenants. We look forward to continuing this job with TruBlue.
This company was a breeze to work with, one of their professionals, curtis, came to give us a quote and provided such helpful advice to us about cost effective ways to insulate our condo better and then when brian (owner) came out to do the jobs, he was helpful and honest in explaining that one task would likely be redundant and maybe a waste of money so we were able to cancel and just have him install a thermal door insulation blanket for our front door, which he did a nice job with. I would use the company again!
Liam was great. He stopped by and quickly assessed the job that we need done. Im looking forward to his work on our project.

I ordered a transfer wheelchair via Amazon for my husband of 2 years yesterday ! He suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke in May. The extremely large, heavy box came, sounded like the chair was in a 1000 pieces, online directions said it takes @ 1 hour to assemble, so I emailed TruBlu and Brian appeared. He opened the box and the chair was assembled, just folded up , all that had to be done was to put the legs on, which took about 2 seconds. I felt like an idiot. Brian couldnt have been nicer, he absolutely refused to take any money from me no matter how much I insisted he take it. There arent a lot of people/men in this crazy world that would refuse cash ! He was a true professional and a gentleman. I would highly recommend this company !
