Tucker Architecture and Landscape is a one-person residential design practice at 56 Atlantic Ave in Marblehead, run by Jeffrey M. Tucker, who is both a licensed architect and a licensed landscape architect and holds AIA, ASLA and LEED AP credentials. It is a drawing-board office rather than a crew: the practice designs new homes, renovations, landscapes and interiors, and the building itself is done by others. Tucker's own listings put the typical job between $50,000 and $5,000,000 and cover the full span from architectural drawings, additions and historic building conservation to landscape plans, patio and pool design, site planning and outdoor lighting. Laser scanning is offered as part of how existing buildings get documented. The public record is unusually thin for a practice of this credential level. One homeowner, writing in August 2025, described Tucker designing a front porch for their house and then presenting the project at the Zoning Board, saying he went beyond what they expected — that permitting-advocacy detail is the most concrete account on file. Both platforms that carry a score show 5 stars from a single rating, and the Houzz profile has no written review at all. The Better Business Bureau grades the LLC A+ while stating separately that it is not BBB accredited; those are two different facts and neither is a customer verdict. BBB records the company as incorporated in October 2016 with one employee, which is the practice's own age — the '20 years of experience' the website cites is Tucker's personal career across firms including Robert A.M. Stern, William Rawn and Michael Van Valkenburgh, not the age of this business. This is the right call for a Marblehead-area homeowner who wants a designer with formal architecture and landscape-architecture registration on a substantial project, and who is prepared to hire a builder separately. Confirm registrations RA 50244 and RLA 1527 directly with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Architects and the landscape architect board, since those numbers come from the practice's own listing rather than from a registry check, and ask for references from recent completed projects given how little is published.

What a great experience we had with Jeff Tucker. Not only did he design a beautiful front porch for our house, but he also did an amazing job at presenting the project at the Zoning Board. He went above and beyond all expectations. If you are looking for an architect in the North Shore, this is your guy.
