Kris Unger runs a small carpentry and remodeling outfit based in Pembroke, and the thing that keeps coming up across dozens of reviews is punctuality — he shows up when he says he will, and cleans up before he leaves. The work runs the full range of a small carpentry outfit: replacing a battered old entry door, rebuilding trim around it, building a farmer's porch and stairs, remodeling a bathroom from scratch in three and a half weeks, even building a custom bar and shelving for a juice shop. One customer called him back three separate times for window shades, a door and a slider repair rather than looking anywhere else. Both his home improvement contractor registration and his construction supervisor license are active with the state. The one thing worth asking about: BuildZoom shows an earlier HIC registration that lapsed before the current one was issued — not unusual on its own, but worth a quick question if it matters to you. For a door, deck, trim job or full bath remodel on the South Shore, Unger Construction has the review history and the license paperwork to back it up — confirm current scheduling, since a track record like this tends to book out.
They were great to work with. Very professional. It wasn’t the easiest door replacement project given the age of my home but Kris and his crew did a fabulous job and I couldn’t be happier. I would definitely hire Unger Construction again for any other construction projects that may come along. I will certainly recommend them to anyone seeking a contractor for a home improvement project.
This is the BEST company I have ever worked with! They were ALWAYS on time and always cleaned up after everyday. They were very sweet and their work was impeccable. I wouldn t go to anyone else! They did our bathroom completely over in 3 1/2 weeks. We can t wait to use them for other projects. I would 100 percent recommend them.

Kris rebuilt all of the trim around our entry door and installed a new entry door, awning, and patio screen door. We are very pleased with the results of all the work. Kris was extremely responsive throughout the course of the project and very flexible with the scheduling. I will call Kris first for my next project.
Kris is currently working on several custom projects in our home and they far exceed our expectations. His talent and attention to detail is top notch. We showed him a few pictures and he made them a beautiful reality. Hes prompt, professional and super easy to work with. His knowledge of projects he works on and connections to additional outside contractors were helpful in completion. He is very clean, which is a luxury when doing in home construction.
