A homeowner who put out a request on a Friday in August 2022 heard back from Jose Vilchez in minutes, had a quote 30 minutes later, and had the crew in the yard bright and early Monday. That account is not an outlier: about half of the 27 written ones turn on how little time passed between the call, the quote and the work. Vilchez Landscaping runs out of 14 Wright Avenue in Medford, and Jose Vilchez is named in nine of those accounts — he is the one who shows up to quote, and often the one working. The company's Angi page reports 11 years in business and Spanish-speaking service, and carries the site's "Approved" badge at 4.9 from 42 ratings. Most of the work is overgrowth. In an October 2021 review, a customer had 15 old forsythias taken out roots and all and a 4-by-110-foot bed cut and loamed; a 2023 customer had more than 1,000 square feet of shrubs cleaned and trimmed and said the crew was on time and quick; a March 2025 homeowner had a large cleanup done and wrote that they were already booking the fall one. The written history runs from December 2019 through October 2025. There is stonework in the history too, though those accounts are older: a May 2021 customer described a complete restoration of a 10-year-old patio plus a roughly six-foot walkway, and a June 2021 one had a crumbling 40-foot retaining rock wall along the driveway rebuilt. Eight of the accounts stop to describe the state of the property afterward — cleanup called perfect after the 2021 forsythia job, meticulous in a February 2020 review and again in a September 2025 one, the yard left in shape after an April 2021 cleanup. A 2022 customer noted the crew cleaned up before they left, which is not the same as cleaning up eventually. Price is the one place customers diverge. Most who mention it call it fair — "reasonably priced" in September 2022, a fair price in May 2024 — while one May 2023 reviewer gave four stars and wrote: "Quick reply and service. Very nice job. Pricey." For an overgrown yard, a shrub or hedge job, or a seasonal cleanup around Medford, this is a small owner-run crew that answers fast and does not leave a mess behind you have to deal with. Get the number in writing when Jose quotes, and if what you need is wall or patio work rather than planting and clearing, ask what masonry the crew has taken on lately — the described jobs of that kind are from 2021.
