Thiago Araujo's crew shows up, works clean, and sweeps the site at the end of each day — that last detail is the one Woburn homeowners keep repeating. Vilela Construction says it has been remodeling Massachusetts homes since 2020, with eight people on the payroll and more than a hundred projects behind it, and the calls it takes are the interior kind: kitchens, bathrooms, basements, floors and paint. The recent run is unblemished — 19 Google ratings and 33 on Thumbtack, every one of them five stars, and it currently holds Thumbtack's Top Pro badge. Behind the numbers the jobs are small-to-mid and varied. A garage ceiling opened up in July to chase a leak and redo the fireproofing. A basement repaired in June after a flood. Bathroom tile, water damage and fixtures on another. A full apartment remodel in April. One July customer with two small kitchen and bathroom jobs said Vilela came in well below the other estimates, and named the two crew members who did the work. Another, back in March, said he had hired them repeatedly and found the pricing fair and the suggestions worth taking. Two things temper all that. The written history is short: every review on file dates from 2026, and it lands in clusters — seven Google reviews between 23 and 26 March, five more on 12 and 13 July. Most are also brief, closer to "Excellent work. I recommend it" than a description of a job; the detailed accounts nearly all come from Thumbtack. On licensing, the Thumbtack profile describes the company as licensed but gives no number, so ask for the Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration and check it at Consumer Affairs before you sign. A sensible call for a kitchen, bath or basement project where you want daily cleanup and a crew that answers quickly — and, judging by the two most specific reviews, for the unglamorous repair work, leaks, water damage and fireproofing, that a lot of remodelers would rather skip.
