Stairs and railings are what Chiamarelli gets called for most: a rotted front-porch railing replaced in a couple of hours in November 2025, a loose stair rail secured with patching and painting inside a day in March 2026, basement stairs remodelled in December 2025 with the design walked through at each step. That January, two crews worked together on stair flooring and finished well ahead of what the customer expected. The Woburn company does custom carpentry — built-ins and furniture, decks, window and door installation, trim, stair work and small remodels. Richard Chiamarelli is named in most reviews, with Eddie and Hamlet alongside him. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, 221030, is active on the state registry, and the Better Business Bureau gives the business an A+ on a non-accredited file. The carpentry customers describe tends to be the awkward kind. In November 2025 one had an above-fridge cabinet reworked so a new fridge would fit without losing storage, with blocking added to bring the cabinets to the proper height. Another that month had built-in bookcases fitted into a previously unusable upstairs corner, along with two staircases and all the trim on a covered patio. In October 2025 a customer had entryway tile replaced, an old wooden door refinished, and drywall and molding repaired on the same run of work. In April 2026 the crew measured, helped choose and buy blinds at Home Depot, and installed them across a three-unit building in one day. Price and process come up together. A June 2026 customer said they were completely upfront about pricing with no surprise costs. An August 2025 customer said they responded within hours of the inquiry and scheduling was easy. A December 2025 customer called Richard punctual, communicative, fairly priced and honest. A builder writing in August 2025 said Chiamarelli did all the finishing work on a house he built, and that in ten years working with them they are the best carpenters he has hired. One thing worth clarifying before you sign: how long the company has been trading. Thumbtack lists 12 years in business with two employees, while the Better Business Bureau records a Woburn sole proprietorship with one employee that started in June 2022. Ask directly, and ask which entity your contract names. For built-ins, stairs, railings, trim and door or window work around Woburn, this is a strong call — quick on the small jobs, careful on the fussy ones. Put the scope in writing for a multi-part job, since these visits often cover several trades at once.

In addition to the attention to detail at every stage of the job, they work and work and work until you are more than 100% happy - truly wonderful guys who show up, are always professional, and such a pleasure to work with! No job is too big or small - HIGHLY recommend Chiamarelli Construction.
We are so happy that we worked with Chiamarelli Construction for our custom mudroom built-in bench and cabinetry. Richard and Eddy are very professorial and do an AMAZING job. They are very patient, they answered all of our questions throughout the entire process, and they made sure we were fully satisfied with the work. My wife and I are in love with the result and we think it is the nicest part of our house. We are looking forward to working with them on all of our future carpentry projects. Their pricing was very fair and I highly recommend them for your project too!
