The name on Vogt & Company's paperwork is Brian Vogt, and the calls that keep coming are for custom cabinetry and trim work — crown molding, baseboards, built-ins — around Boston and Dorchester. Angi and HomeAdvisor both put 26 years of experience behind the business, a self-reported figure that lines up with a written record stretching back to 2020. The record is unusually uniform: 18 reviews on HomeAdvisor and 20 on Angi, every one of them 5 stars. In a 2021 review, a homeowner having crown molding installed described Brian as booking the project within two weeks and staying on budget; another reviewer that same year, a tradesperson herself, said it takes a lot to impress her and he did. A 2020 review about a door-hardware replacement called him knowledgeable and detail-oriented, and several others from 2020 use the same words — punctual, communicative, meticulous. The pattern continues in two Angi reviews from May 2026, one calling his attention to detail unmatched. One thing worth checking before booking: BuildZoom's page for the business lists three Massachusetts registrations — a Construction Supervisor license and a Home Improvement Contractor license both shown active, and a second HIC number shown inactive and cancelled. None of these numbers have been checked against the state registry directly here, so it's worth asking which license covers the work and confirming its current status. For a homeowner with a specific carpentry job — cabinets, trim, molding, built-ins — rather than a full room remodel, Vogt & Company has a narrow but consistently praised track record to point to. Get the active license number in hand and pin down a start date, since most of that praise dates from a few years back.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Vogt & Company. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

Very happy with Vogt and Co. Brian is a talented carpenter, and the work he did was tremendous. He was professional, communicative, courteous, and patient. His attention to detail is unmatched. I will most certainly have Vogt and Co back.
Brian was a pleasure to work with. Knowledgable, conscientious, and kind. Highly recommend.
Mr. Vogt was very polite and pleasant and smart.
Excellent work. Meticulous craftsmanship. Very professional. Would definitely hire again for more projects.
Brian was exceptional to work with on the installation of our crown molding. He was prompt in his response to our request for a quote and then booked our project within two weeks and proceeded to be on time. On budget. And solicitous of our approval. His carpenters were a pleasure to have working in our home. (And they went above and beyond to install some trim that our cabinet installer had missed from our island.) All in all, both my husband and I were completely satisfied. Thank you, Brian, and crew. Now, about our porch project...
