Vogt & Company is Brian Vogt, a Dorchester finish carpenter people hire for the work that shows: crown molding, baseboard, cabinetry, door hardware, trim. Angi and HomeAdvisor put him at 26 years of experience — the profiles' own figure — and list a Massachusetts construction supervisor licence, CS-073276, through June 2028, which is the directories' listing rather than a registry check. Twenty ratings, all of them five stars, and the words that keep coming up are about care rather than speed. A 2021 customer who had crown molding installed said Brian answered the quote request promptly, booked the job within two weeks, arrived on time and stayed on budget while checking that they approved as he went. A 2020 reviewer who is in the trades — "it takes a good bit to impress me" — said Brian did. Baseboard installation in 2020 earned the same notes: efficient, responsive, responsible. A condo owner that year had door hardware replaced and described the crew as punctual and respectful of the space. A senior living alone wrote in 2020 that she does not trust easily and that he has integrity. The two most recent reviews, from May 2026, say the same thing five years later: a talented carpenter with attention to detail, patient and communicative. Most of the written accounts are from late 2020 and early 2021, when the bulk of the reviews came in. The right call for interior trim, molding, built-in or cabinet work where the finish matters and you want the owner on the job. One thing to settle up front: Angi says he offers free estimates and HomeAdvisor says he does not, so ask before the first visit.
Very happy with Vogt and Co. Brian is a talented carpenter, and the work he did was tremendous. He was professional, communicative, courteous, and patient. His attention to detail is unmatched. I will most certainly have Vogt and Co back.
Brian was a pleasure to work with. Knowledgable, conscientious, and kind. Highly recommend.
Mr. Vogt was very polite and pleasant and smart.
Excellent work. Meticulous craftsmanship. Very professional. Would definitely hire again for more projects.
Brian was exceptional to work with on the installation of our crown molding. He was prompt in his response to our request for a quote and then booked our project within two weeks and proceeded to be on time. On budget. And solicitous of our approval. His carpenters were a pleasure to have working in our home. (And they went above and beyond to install some trim that our cabinet installer had missed from our island.) All in all, both my husband and I were completely satisfied. Thank you, Brian, and crew. Now, about our porch project...
