Weathervane Home Services works out of Burlington, doing Mass Save- and NHSaves-backed home energy work across Massachusetts and New Hampshire: no-cost home energy audits, insulation and air sealing, and heat pump or HVAC installations. The company says it was started by three partners — Dan Carroll, Matt Hammer and John Lanzi — who brought more than 30 years of combined Mass Save program experience with them from an empty warehouse. The audits are where the reviews keep landing. Homeowners name individual technicians — Rob, Sebastian, Paul and others — for walking the whole house, explaining what they found, and laying out what an insulation or heating upgrade would actually involve. That pattern shows up at real volume: 368 Google ratings averaging 4.9, plus a 5.0 from seven Angi reviews. Once a job moves to installation, the same crew-level praise continues. Reviewers repeatedly call out named teams — insulation crews organized by truck number, including "Truck 2" and "Truck 4" — for careful attic and crawl-space work and for cleaning up fully before leaving. A July 2026 review credited a technician named Damian with a clean, on-time bathroom-fan installation, and a September 2025 Angi review credited Stephanie, Tim and Spencer with a mini-split system explained step by step. Recent installs described also include a furnace-to-heat-pump conversion with a new water heater, with additional electrical work handled by subcontractors as part of the same job. Weathervane's Massachusetts HVAC license (957-SM-B) is active on the state registry. Not every account is this smooth. A mid-2025 review and a January 2026 review both describe the same problem — slow responses and, in the January case, months of silence after a round of required inspections with no installation ever completed — and a July 2026 review raised a similar complaint about communication and support after a heat pump install. Separately, a May 2026 review said an insulation job left debris around the property and didn't fully replace the material in one section of the house. The Better Business Bureau lists the company at a C- with one complaint on file, a notably rougher read than its Google and Angi numbers. None of that shows up often against 171 reviews collected since 2024 across five platforms, but it points to the same thing worth nailing down before booking: a clear plan for who follows up, and when, once the crew leaves. For a Mass Save-eligible energy audit or an insulation-to-heat-pump upgrade in the Burlington area, that's the one thing worth confirming going in.
“I recently had Weathervane come to my house for an audit and the guy seemed legit.”
Response to the Owner's Reply: My review reflects my personal experience and the timeline of events. My concern has never been whether the Fujitsu manufacturer's parts warranty remained active, but with Weathervane's communication, recommendations, and post-installation support. My system operated properly until November 2025. Following asbestos remediation, the system was shut down and indoor heads were replaced. Once the system was returned to service, I experienced odors, intermittent hissing, and reduced performance. Those issues continued for months, which is why I contacted Weathervane in May 2026 requesting annual service so those concerns could be investigated before any later renovation work. That service never occurred. Later, I followed Weathervane's recommendation to use another licensed HVAC contractor to temporarily remove and reinstall one indoor unit to save money. At no point was I informed that this decision could later affect Weathervane's willingness to perform warranty-related labor or create a dispute over service responsibility. Had I been told that before making my decision, I would have hired Weathervane despite the additional cost. I believe that was material information that should have been disclosed before I acted because it directly affected my ability to receive service afterward. This recommendation was communicated to me during a phone call rather than in writing. Because Weathervane was aware that I am legally blind and that I rely on email and text communications whenever possible for accessibility and documentation, I believe providing this important information in writing would have helped ensure I fully understood the potential consequences before making my decision. As a legally blind and disabled homeowner, I relied on that advice. After exhausting every effort to resolve this matter, I sought assistance from the Massachusetts Low-Income Energy Program, the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), Fujitsu, my State Senator's office, and the Better Business Bureau. While Weathervane emphasizes its records and interpretation of events, my review reflects the experience I actually had. I would not have spent months gathering documentation or asked multiple state agencies, Fujitsu, my State Senator's office, and the Better Business Bureau to review this matter if I did not genuinely believe I had not been provided information that would have materially affected my decision. That remains the central issue for me. I stand by my review because it accurately reflects my experience, and I am confident the appropriate agencies and program administrators will evaluate the facts independently.
Had additional insulation and air sealing done to our home and these guys were nothing short of perfect. The 2 that came (totally forgot their names but they were in truck 1) were extremely professional to deal with and the work they did was phenomenal. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was second to none, especially the foam board work they did in the crawlspace under our kitchen. Everything was kept extremely clean as well. 100% reccomend them for any work for your home!
It was a pleasure working with Damian! He did a phenomenal job with the installation of our bathroom fan. He was professional, on time and very polite. Made sure our space was clean and neat after he finished his work. Highly recommended - thank you weathervane for sending him our way!!
Jeff Benzan & Manny Jiamenz were phenomenal, courteous, polite, careful of my home and very thorough with their clean up. They showed up at 8am, then Jeff took the time to explain everything to me prior to the work and again after they were done. They were especially careful not to let the dog out and courteous of the noise while i was working at home. My husband threw in a change and they handled it without a hitch. Weathervane through the Mass Save program put installation in my attic & installed a vent. It was 90 degrees today and they completed the work without a complaint. I would high recommend this company. Ask for Jeff and Manny!
We had the initial energy assessment with the technician Robert and he was amazingly knowledgeable, efficient at assessing our needs and gave us a price range of what the work will entail to hopefully create a more energy-efficient situation for our home.
