Westwood Handyman is Orest Llagaci's one-person outfit in Westwood, working the kind of small jobs many contractors skip — a grab handle by the front door, a storm door that's stuck for years, weatherstripping before winter. Angi and HomeAdvisor list him as a licensed construction supervisor. The written record is old rather than absent: five reviews on file run from 2018 to 2020, and the story they tell is mostly the same one — quick, courteous, and thorough on small jobs. In a September 2018 review, a homeowner described him installing an exterior grab handle and leaving the area spotless, timed from a Sunday-morning HomeAdvisor request to a finished job by early afternoon. A July 2018 review credited him with finally fixing a storm door that had been broken for two years, and an October 2019 review praised him for painting windows and a deck and offering advice beyond the job itself. The one account worth knowing about before calling is a January 2020 review describing a pricing dispute — a $500-a-day quote that grew by several hundred dollars — along with an allegation that the business threatened the reviewer after the review was posted. Nothing else in the five-review record repeats that kind of complaint, but it's serious enough to be worth asking directly about pricing upfront and getting the scope in writing before work starts. For a small handyman job in Westwood — door repair, weatherstripping, odd jobs around the house — the older reviews describe a reliable, detail-oriented worker. Given how dated most of the record is and the one heated dispute in it, it's worth confirming current pricing directly and asking for a recent reference before booking anything larger.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Westwood Handyman. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

Typical handyman visit around $540
Quoted me $500 for the day to work. Ended up getting a flat tire and could not work until after lunch. Had to come back later in the week to finish and ended up charging me several hundred dollars on top of the $500 for the job. Ended up correcting my balance and charging me the correct amount eventually. However, he just called me up and told me if I didn't remove my review that he will "find you [me] and get you [me] motherf*****". With a temper like this I would not trust again in any of my properties. Not sure how many other people he threatened that actually removed their reviews so his rating could be artificially higher than what it should be.
Orest and his partner were professional, and did a very good job in painting our windows and deck. Orest was quick to quote the price and complete the work. He also provided useful advise beyond the work. We would be happy to hire them again.
Mr. Liagaci was wonderful. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, courteous and he completed the job on time. In my 23 years of home ownership he is the best handyman I've come across. I highly recommend Mr. Llagaci.
Orest did a terrific job installing an exterior grab handle by my front door. It was not a big or complicated job, but one that needed to be done correctly for safety reasons. Orest was knowledgable, thoughtful and courteous throughout the visit and left the area spotless when he was finished. I was blown away by the process - I went on the HomeAdvisor website at 10:00 am on a holiday Sunday weekend and the job was finished by 12:30 pm. A great experience from start to finish!
High marks for Orest! So glad we found him for our projects. Especially for our storm door which hasn't been able to be fixed for over 2 years. It's finally fixed now. Hooray! We know who to call for future projects. Thank you Orest!
