Wicked Clean, operating as a d/b/a of Long's Enterprises, is a Hanover, MA exterior-cleaning business covering power washing, soft washing, roof treatments, window cleaning and gutter cleaning across much of the South Shore. Three of its four Google reviews are glowing: a 2024 review praised technician Pablo by name for thorough, quick work, with the customer planning to return for vehicle detailing; two 2023 reviews credited the company with being responsive and easy to reschedule around weather delays. The fourth review, also from 2024, is a serious complaint. A repeat customer who had been happy with window cleaning described a roof-moss treatment that used a heavy chemical spray instead of physical removal, which drifted onto nearby plants and severely burned them; a follow-up rinse didn't fully address the damage. Separately, the Better Business Bureau grades the business C+, not accredited, with one complaint on file for failing to respond. For straightforward jobs like window or gutter cleaning, the record here is positive; for a chemical roof treatment near plants or landscaping, it's worth asking in advance how they protect nearby vegetation.
We have used Wicked Clean in MA a few times to clean windows, which they do very well. Unfortunately, we have also had them address moss that was growing on our roof and most recently to clean our patio pavers and a portion of our fence. First the roof, they did not physically go on the roof to clear the moss, instead they used heavy duty chemicals (mostly chlorine I would guess) and sprayed the roof. The unfortunate part was that the spray also went onto our plants below the roof which were severely burned. They attempted to follow the chemical spray with spraying the plants with water, but in many cases the plants got burned. The plants came back the next year, but we lost a season. The second experience was with the pavers and fence. We were never made aware that they would use chemicals here since when we discussed the service with them it was to have them power wash them. In this case, they used a similar chemical solution as they did on the roof. They did not follow with a straight water rinse on them and as a result our hydrangeas were severely burned with at least one full grown plant not likely to survive. They also got a lot of the chemicals on some ground cover plants that were killed almost instantly. We attempted to get relief from them on the price of the service, and they did rebate a small portion. However, the amount they refunded did not even cover the cost of the replacement costs, let alone the labor to have them planted. I do not complain on the efforts of the person performing the service. He worked very hard and was a pleasure to work with. I think that they just have trained the service people to perform these services this way. Their pricing for doing windows is fair, but the price for the other services (roof, pavers and fence) are very expensive. Even more so when you have to replace plants that they devastated or destroyed. Sorry to say, we are not likely to use them again for any services in the future.
