The last homeowner to write about Wild Apple Homes hired them for a historic house. In that May 2018 review the owner described very fine work restoring original details and hardware, and called the crew excellent craftsmen. A November 2016 client had gone bigger still: a ground-up single-family home over $1M in Manchester, managed by Tom Dodge and Tadhg against quality, schedule and budget. Wild Apple Homes builds high-end custom houses and renovations on the North Shore of Boston and says it takes on only a few projects a year. Houzz lists it under home remodeling, kitchen remodeling, custom homes, new construction, project management, green building and barn design, puts its typical job between $500,000 and $5 million, and shows nine projects, two awards and two badges behind a 5.0 rating from seven ratings. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade without accreditation. BuildZoom shows three permits in its name: a $1.4M addition and reconstruction, a $150,000 window and door replacement, and a $25,000 foundation job. The Houzz customers agree about how a job is run. A May 2018 client who renovated a kitchen said the process was nothing like the long, uncomfortable ordeal they had been warned to expect; a February 2018 client called the business professionally run and knowledgeable about building practices, with a get-it-done attitude when problems came up mid-construction. In a December 2016 review a homeowner described a remodel covering deck repair and construction, hardwood flooring and painting, and credited Tom Dodge with listening and communicating clearly. Two things to settle before calling. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #185498, is expired — it ran out on 22 June 2026, and BuildZoom shows the same number inactive. Houzz separately lists a construction supervisor number, CS-090106, under Tom Dodge. And the five accounts customers have written date from 2016 to 2018, so they describe a crew and a pace of eight to ten years ago. The right call for a large custom build or a whole-house renovation on the North Shore, from a builder who says it runs only a few jobs at a time. Ask for the current registration status in writing, and for two references from projects finished in the last two years.
The team at Wild Apple Homes is first-rate – all excellent craftsman and a pleasure to work with. They brought a great eye and options to our project, a challenging remodeling of a historic home, which included very fine work restoring original details and hardware. Their years of experience and knowledge of the trade was obvious; they were transparent, communicated clearly and accomplished a range of work on time even through a harsh winter. We highly recommend Wild Apple Homes and plan to work with them again in the future.
Once my wife and I decided to renovate our kitchen, we selected a contractor and prepared ourselves for what everyone told us was going to be a long and uncomfortable process ahead. To our surprise, Wild Apple proved that wrong. From day 1 until completion date Wild Apple had someone on site making sure everything went smoothly. Subs were scheduled seamlessly and the the job site was left tidy every afternoon. We were given a detailed update from the project manager (Will) almost every other day. Most importantly, the project was completed under budget and exactly in the time frame promised..not to mention the kitchen looks great. Cheers to Wild Apple. Would highly recommend.
Wild Apple Homes has done an excellent job for my family. The business is professionally run and the team is very knowledgeable about building practices. More importantly, they have a get it done attitude and look for solutions to problems that come up during the construction process. We recommend the team highly.
Wild Apple Homes did an excellent job on a recent remodel that included deck repair and construction, hardwood flooring, and painting. What impressed me most was the way Tom Dodge personalized the project by listening and understanding our needs, identifying and clearly communicating options, providing his recommendations, and ultimately ensuring that the work was done on time and to expectations. Most of this work happened while we were thousands of miles away, and it was reassuring to know that we could trust that things were in the hands of a company that does what it says it will do.
Hired to construct a ground-up single family $1M+ home in Manchester, MA. Tom and Tadhg are consummate professionals in their craft of managing and supervising the total building process. They pay attention to client needs for quality, schedule and budget. We would hire again without hesitation. Great work.
