Forty reviews spread over a decade, and it's the crew people keep writing about. In a 2018 review a homeowner said two neighbors stopped to remark on how hard the crew worked; in a 2019 review another described them arriving at 7:30 every morning, working until 6, cleaning up daily and taking care to protect the landscaping. Willard Roofing works out of Dedham, and the jobs customers describe are ordinary house roofs — strip-and-reshingle, gutters, skylights. The range shows up on the bigger jobs. A homeowner writing in May 2024 listed what one project covered: a roughly 30-year-old shingle roof carrying another roofer's poor repairs, three copper window pans, shingle roofing on a screen porch and a shed, and a flat rubber roof over the kitchen. In a 2022 review, a consult about water rotting shingles turned into a gutter fix meant to slow the decay. Another 2022 customer said Willard looked at their roof and concluded only some bump-outs and a porch needed doing, then came back a year later for a leaking garage roof. A 2016 reviewer wrote that the bid came in under the others and that Willard told them an issue they were worried about didn't need addressing at all. The friction is off the roof, in the office. A 2022 reviewer gave two stars after calling in September 2021 about a leak: the quote arrived quickly and looked reasonable, but three or four emails and several calls over two months went unanswered and they gave up. In a 2018 review a homeowner waited ten days after signing for a tarp over an active leak, until a Willard family member stepped in. A 2022 one-star review objected to a $5,225 quote to replace gutters and to the $125-per-man-per-hour rate quoted for any rotted soffit or fascia found underneath. And a 2020 customer, pleased that wrongly installed shingles were pulled and redone at no charge, still found a large number of nails and pieces of plastic left in the yard and driveway. Its Angi and HomeAdvisor listing sits at 4.9 across 141 ratings, Google at 4.6 across 16, and its BBB page is an accredited A+. The right call for a full roof or a gutter replacement where you want a crew that turns up and picks up after itself. Get the estimate itemized before signing — including the hourly rate for rot found under the shingles — and settle in writing who you call, and how quickly they answer, if the roof leaks before the work starts.
Job done right
Parker and the team provided fantastic professionalism and work throughout the process of assessing and replacing an old section of roof. Highly recommend!
Great service, fair pricing, the team is excellent.
We recently had our roof re-done by Willard Roofing. The roof was probably close to 30 years old and had some very poor repairs done by another roofer Willard had to fix. In addition to the main shingle roof they did 3 cooper window pans, shingle roofing on a screen porch and shed and a flat, rubber roof over the kitchen. It was a big job! Willard was fantastic from start to finish. Parker Willard, the owner, was very available to discuss options and answer questions questions. James, the project manager, also worked closely and was very patient with all the concerns I had that everything was done correctly on this complex job. Sergio, the lead, was an artist with his carpentry and copper skills and his son, Alex, was helpful in noticing and correcting any issues. The entire experience went incredibly well and was very fairly priced for the amazing work we received! I would whole-heartedly endorse Willard for any roofing work you need done!
We have known, and worked with the Willard Roofing team, for well over a decade. Our experience has been nothing short of fantastic dealing with both Parker Sr. and now Parker Jr. They demonstrate a good old fashioned work ethic, extreme responsiveness and are excellent communicators. After working with them on multiple occasions, it is clear they are committed to quality workmanship and will stand behind their name. It's no wonder they have been in business for well over 100 years. We will certainly seek to use them again on our next project. The Mullally Family
