One Acton customer in June 2017 listed what Rob got through for them: the fence, broken plumbing, trash hauled away, new screen doors, damaged drywall patched, attic insulation sorted out, kitchen cabinetry repaired — and more after that. That list is the business. Wilson Home Services works out of Acton, and every review names one person: Rob. The work customers describe runs from electrical and plumbing repairs to decks, railings, fencing and painting. Houzz lists a home improvement contractor registration for the company, HIC#183170, along with a Houzz Award and badge. The accounts are detailed, and all five were posted in 2017. That April, a homeowner finishing a basement had Rob do the electrical and said he was upfront about the work, flexible on scheduling, handled the town inspector well and charged reasonably. In March 2017 another customer had him build an outdoor shower, liked it enough to have him design and build a deck next; a second reviewer that month had used him twice, for exterior painting and cleanup, a rebuilt railing and electrical work. A June 2017 customer said he replaced awkward, hard-to-reach fixtures and cleared up plumbing problems they had been struggling with. On Houzz the rating is 4.8 from five ratings. For the small mixed jobs around Acton — the list that has been sitting on the fridge since spring — this is the kind of one-man operation that list is for. Everything written about the work is nine years old, so ask for a recent reference or two, and confirm the HIC registration and insurance yourself before he starts, especially for anything electrical that has to pass an inspection.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Wilson Home Services. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

Rob did a variety of jobs proficiently. He replaced electrical fixtures that were difficult to reach and repaired plumbing items quickly and completely. My problems were solved! He also helped to trouble-shoot household issues I have been having been struggling with and came up with insightful solutions. Rob is professional, prompt and pleasant to work with.
Rob did a bunch of random projects for us that we couldn't find the time to get to (fixed the fence, repaired broken plumbing, trash removal, replaced screen doors, repaired damaged dry walls, fixed insulation in the attic, repaired kitchen cabinetry, and more). All of his work was excellent, quickly done and reasonably priced. He was very flexible with our schedule and he is also pleasant to work with.
Rob did some electrical work in my basement that I was finishing. He was very upfront with the work, flexible on work schedules did great with the town inspector. His prices were reasonable and offered up great advice or ideas. His work was well done. I would highly recommend and plan on using him in the future on other projects.
Rob built an outdoor shower that came out amazing! My wife and I liked the work so much we had Rob design and build a new deck for us. All of his work came out excellent. We would highly recommend Wilson Home Services!
I've used Wilson Home Services twice and each time Rob is excellent! I've had him do outside painting and cleanup, rebuilding a railing, and doing electrical work. All were superb. Highly recommended.
