Working Dog Septic Services pumps, repairs and installs septic systems and rents portable toilets, according to its BBB profile. Its website lists Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle as its service area, and a recent Reddit commenter said they're out of Cambridge and charging $380. A recent Google customer said that, rather than upselling, the company walked them through a simple fix on the phone. A 2025 customer who called on Martin Luther King Day got a call back about 3 minutes after leaving a message; the worker was at the house in less than an hour, found and uncovered the tank, and the bill came in about 15 minutes. A 2023 customer said Judd found that their tanks had been pumped on only one side by another company and did not charge more than he quoted. A 2022 customer selling a house on a hilly dirt road said the company came the next day with no extra fees after another company refused. A 2024 customer said the company pumped their gray water instead of the septic tank and was told it would cost another $350 to come back. A 2022 customer said the worker refused to dig up the tank and that an extra $14 appeared on the card charge without warning. In a June 2026 r/vermont thread, a commenter said Damien checked a couple of other things and gave them contact info for a local septic engineer to answer the questions he couldn't.
“👍 for Working Dog”
“Damien checked a couple of other things for me and gave me contact info for a local septic engineer to answer the questions that he couldn't.”
“Last April I believe I paid Working Dog Septic $350. I dug out the lid to my tank though, not sure if they would have charged more if I hadn't.”
“Working Dog has been my go-to for the past couple of septic pumpings. They're out of Cambridge and charging $380 this year.”
“I’m in Lamoille County - we had our septic pumped last spring by Working Dog and I believe it was $350 for the same size tank”
Repeat customer and would recommend to anyone. Had an issue with my septic tank and rather than taking my money walked me through a simple fix on the phone rather than upselling me. Can’t recommend them enough.
Clean frequently, Reliable, fast. 5 star
I had noticed one night, that the pipes were gurgling followed by an unpleasant odor. I called Working Dog first thing the next morning, and they scheduled a visit for the same day in the afternoon. The driver was very friendly and explained what he was going to look for. The issue was resolved and it was great to get service the same day the call was placed. I would highly recommend Working Dog!!
