This looks like a North Shore remodeler built around one-accountability jobs, not one-off punch-list work. WORKS by Jesse DeBenedictis says it was founded in Beverly in 2001 by Jesse DeBenedictis, who serves as founder, CEO, and lead design-builder. The company says it works across the North Shore and Cape Ann, taking remodels from design through construction and warranty under one team, and its Massachusetts home-improvement-contractor license is active. The public trail is positive and fairly broad, though not huge. Google sits at 4.8 stars from 28 ratings, BBB shows 5.0 stars and an A+ grade, and public reviews run from 2017 to 2026 across several sites. The praise that repeats is less about one dramatic rescue job and more about how the work is run: communication, attention to the project, and homeowners feeling guided through a process that can get complicated fast. A June 2026 Google reviewer said Jesse and Lisa were thoughtful about turning a homeowner's vision into a plan, communicated well, and used a step-by-step system that made the building process easier to follow. Older Google and Houzz comments stay in that same lane, with positive remarks about communication and attentiveness. That fits the company's own description of itself as a contractor-led design-build firm, not a single-trade shop. Before calling, the useful question is fit. Ask how much of your job will run through that design-build process, who your day-to-day contacts will be, and how scope changes get tracked once construction starts. If you're specifically shopping a kitchen or bath remodel, their own credentials lean that way too, including a CKBR affiliation. One plain point to note: BBB lists the company as non-accredited even though the profile carries an A+ grade. There is also a small mismatch on tenure — the website says founded in 2001, while BBB lists 24 years in business — so if the timeline matters to you, confirm it directly. This makes the most sense for homeowners who want a remodeler to lead the whole project, then stay accountable through construction and warranty.

Jesse and Lisa were amazing to work with. They were thoughtful and helpful when it came to creating what we envisioned and how to do it. They communicate well and have made a step my step system to help you understand and navigate the building process. We highly recommend them for small and large projects.

We had a great experience with Works by JD. They were helpful and professional in scoping our kitchen renovation. They worked quickly and efficiently, kept us in the loop with status updates throughout the project, and answered all the questions we had along the way. We are SO happy with the finished product and highly recommend working with them!

The exterior painting job done by a crew from WORKS could not have been better. As I watched their work going from surface cleaning, preparation with areas of scraping, minor filling and caulking to priming and the final solid color staining, the care and expertise with which it was being done was obvious. I tend to be a perfectionist and was happy to perceive the guys treating the house as if it were their own!

I have used WORKS on three different projects in our home, spanning several years. I keep going back to them, which is evidence of how I hold them in regard. They do good work. They are attentive to the project. The employees are all polite and respectful. They focus on their work. Almost every day a supervisor-type shows up to check on everything. In our latest work with them, one of the subcontractors messed up big time. WORKS completely understood the mess-up, was on our side, and made sure the re-do was done quickly and no cost to us. Absolutely no argument or hesitancy; they supported us and got it done right. I’m very comfortable with WORKS and will use them in the future should a need arise.
