You Name It Creatives, LLC

You Name It Creatives is a Lunenburg handyman and carpentry outfit run by Joeci Gilchrest (the self-described "Odd Job Specialist" who founded the business after moving from Oklahoma in 2018) and her husband John Gilchrest, who handles carpentry. The company describes itself as woman-owned and family-operated, offering carpentry, deck work, basement finishing, painting, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and general handyperson jobs across North Central Massachusetts. Google shows 4.7★ from 26 ratings. Decks are the recurring theme. In a 2025 review, John replaced the stairs to a second-story deck, staying on schedule and calling ahead about a weather delay; another 2025 review described a full deck facelift — new railings, stairs to a patio, and a repair to the deck's existing framing beyond what was originally requested. In a 2023 review, the couple built two decks for one family who said they'd "hire them again in a heartbeat." Beyond decks, a 2026 review describes a gutter-cleaning job and TV-stand assembly, a 2025 review praises a bathroom remodel for cutting no corners, and a 2023 review describes two consultation walkthroughs — one assessing a shed for renovation, another helping a buyer waive a home inspection by flagging issues that might otherwise have been missed. A 2022 review described three weeks of unanswered calls and emails asking whether the business was still operating — a contrast with the responsiveness other reviewers describe. The company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor license (#208420) is registry-verified expired; BuildZoom separately reports the state showed it as cancelled at one point, so the exact status history isn't fully clear. For deck work or general handyman jobs this looks like a well-regarded small, local operation — worth confirming the license is current and getting a firm response time before booking.
